ELLSWORTH – Ellsworth Public Library invites the public to a special artist reception with watercolorist John Grancorvitz at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29. The reception offers community members an opportunity to meet the artist, view his work up close, and enjoy light refreshments in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Grancorvitz’s watercolor paintings capture a wide range of subjects, from landscapes and cityscapes to portraits of people and pets, often inspired by his experiences outdoors and everyday observations. His work is currently on display as part of the library’s gallery exhibit, running Jan. 7 through Feb. 25, 2026.

Self-taught and working primarily in watercolor since the mid-1990s, Grancorvitz brings a thoughtful, observational approach to his art. He is an award-winning artist whose work has been exhibited at venues including the Community Arts Base Gallery in River Falls and the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson. He is also a member of the American Watercolor Society and a signature member of the NorthStar Watermedia Society.

The artist reception is free and open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend. The event will take place during regular library hours at Ellsworth Public Library.
