Pray for Texas
As I write this the sun is shining and the temps are pushing 40. Now I have been around long enough not to start planning my spring cleaning just yet. I only wish that this weather could be shipped down to Texas, where they really need it. Folks in Wisconsin take cold weather in stride. After all, we know these temps are coming and we are ready for them. Those poor souls in Texas don't even insulate their houses. When temps go down below 0 it hits them like a Packer linebacker.
When we watch the weather forecast we don't even get alarmed at wind chill. Down south they don't know what wind chill is. To us it is just a stiff breeze. Weather like that is an open invitation to Wisconsinites to jump on the snowmobile and jet from town to town with no worry whatsoever. A trail goes by my house and the roar of engines can be heard all up and down the valley. Some more hardy folks I know even cook out on the back porch. Say nothing about the infamous Polar Bear Plunge. Some people think it is cool to strip down to their shorts, cut a hole in the ice and dive in. This is going a bit too far for this guy.
My heart goes out to those people in Texas. I will keep you in my prayers.
Now, I have to put on a sweater and walk down and get the mail.
