Man’s best friend

As we enter a new year under the cloak of a worldwide pandemic, the growing divide of our country, the loneliness of having to shelter in place, we find it very difficult to be positive.

But there is someone who is above it all. Always friendly, always conveys undying love. This individual always greets you with a sure sign of friendship. In fact, they even become friendly when they are 10 ft away. You can tell they are friendly because they start to wag their tail. I speak of the dog.

Think about it. They don’t worry about being fed. They don’t work, unless you count rolling over on command. They don’t have to worry about politics or where their next meal is coming from. They are very happy with an occasional treat now and then.

You can be gone for just a few minutes and when you return they greet you like you have been gone for a week. No strings attached. Always friendly, always share their love.

Wouldn’t we have a better world if we took a tip from our canine friends and greet each other with a smile?

Remember we are all responsible for how we affect the world around us. I challenge each one of us to remember our canine friend when we meet people this year. Start out with a friendly smile and share that smile
