SPRING VALLEY – The Spring Valley Stagehands Community Theatre will be presenting its 2022 Children’s Theatre production of “MISS NELSON IS MISSING!” based upon the well-known children’s book by Harry Allard Jr. and James Marshall, adapted for the stage by Jeurey Hatcher. The story centers around Miss Nelson, who can’t control her crazy classroom because she’s just too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention-loving, recess-canceling, homework- overloading substitute teacher Viola Swamp! With the Big Test approaching, the kids suddenly realize how much they miss Miss Nelson and they’ll do anything — including hiring a private eye — to solve the mystery of her disappearance and bring her back.

This youth production features nine local students ranging in age from second grade to high schoolers. Miss Nelson’s elementary students are Nolan Connors, Carter Connors, Shelby Kerg, Frankie Hudson, Max Rozowski, Gwen Turner, and Grivn Stein. Miss Nelson is played by Dani Ramirez and with a quick change of costume she also plays the grouchy Miss Viola Swamp.

Harper DuMond also has a dual role; Principal Humleker and Detective McSmogg.

Make plans to attend this fun story with your whole family! Performances are at 7 p.m. Oct. 21, 2 p.m. Oct. 22, and 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Spring Valley Theatre (S234 McKay Ave.) Reserved seating tickets are available online at www.svstagehands.org or may be purchased at the door prior to each performance.
