RIVER FALLS - The School District of River Falls has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for their outstanding support and commitment to music education. Now in its 26th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students.

“The River Falls Music Department has a proud tradition of offering diverse and engaging opportunities for students,” said Superintendent David Bell. “Guided by highly trained professionals, students are encouraged to explore their musical talents, enriching their academic, social, and emotional development. These experiences are a source of pride for the entire River Falls community. We are honored to be recognized, as it allows us to celebrate the contributions of our students, staff, families, and community.”

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, the district answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by the leading arts educational research firm, WolfBrown. 

This is the fifth year in a row the district has received the honor. 

The NAMM Foundation is the charitable arm of the National Association of Music Merchants, the global trade association for the music products industry.
