RIVER FALLS – Music in the Park is an annual summertime series that features live music performances in Veterans Park in downtown River Falls. The park offers a beautiful central location for people of all ages to gather and enjoy a diverse range of live entertainment, often featuring local musicians. Concerts are free of charge and open to the public, thanks to sponsorship donations from local businesses and individuals.
Music in the Park is presented by the Community Arts Base (CAB) of River Falls, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating arts-related events and projects in and around the community of River Falls. Beginning in 1994, Music in the Park is CAB’s longest running event.
All performances take place from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays in Veterans Park (except June 11), downtown River Falls. This year’s rain site is Tarnation Tavern, 128 N Main St (except June 11).
May 28 – River Falls High School Basie Jazz Ensemble, featuring budding jazz musicians from River Falls
June 4 – Mayfair 3, playing Americana with groove
June 11 – SPECIAL SHOW with Charlie Parr, an internationally and critically acclaimed blues folk singer-songwriter. Singer/guitarist Tommy Bentz opens at 7 p.m.; Charlie performs at 7:30 p.m. Food trucks will be on-site. Rain site is Junior’s Restaurant and Tap House, 414 S. Main St., River Falls. Note: This show will be performed in Heritage Park, River Falls.
June 18 – Chris Silver Band, the finest in bluegrass and Americana
June 25 – Trent Romens Band, a modern blues/soul jam band with an old soulful voice.
July 2 – Little Wing, featuring soulful, bluesy Americana.
July 9 – No concert, Enjoy River Falls Days!
July 16 – Flannel Brothers, featuring three-part harmonies, guitars, mandolins, percussion, and a good time.
July 23 – Tommy Bentz Band: original blues/rock with a jazz feel.
July 30 – SPECIAL SHOW with the Scott Miller Quintet, a dynamic pianist and singer songwriter with a unique blend of blues, jazz, and Americana. Food trucks will be on-site.
Aug. 6 – Cruzando, a Latin music adventure.
Aug. 13 – Mark Cameron Blues Band, with foot-stompin’, butt-shakin’ blues
Aug. 20 – Denny Cooper Band, playing great songs from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and beyond – rock, country, folk, and blues.
Aug. 27 – Lehto & Wright: British Isles and American folk traditions with electrifying, guitar driven arrangements.
