In celebration of October being National Cooperative month, St. Croix Economic Development Corporation and Pierce County Economic Development Corporation recognized two Pierce County cooperatives for their leadership in their community. Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery and Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services were presented with a proclamation for living the 7th Cooperative Principle, “Concern for Community” in demonstrative ways.
These two local cooperatives, their members, employees and board have brought broadband to their community, and provided leadership to community organizations and initiatives such as the Chamber of Commerce, CVTC, Ellsworth new library capital campaign, United Way childcare initiative, and “Acts of Service.” They have enhanced the education of our youth through the Imagination Library Initiative, providing scholarships for youth programs and collaboration with our higher education institutions to enhance the quality of our workforce.
Thank you to your membership, boards and teams for your leadership in improving the lives of the residents and businesses of Pierce and St. Croix Counties.
