ELLSWORTH – The Ellsworth Public Library and Prescott Public Library are pleased to welcome New York Times bestselling author and Emmy Award-winning television writer Matt Goldman for a special Meet the Author event from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at the Ellsworth High School Cafetorium, 323 Hillcrest Drive in Ellsworth.

Goldman is the author of the popular Nils Shapiro mystery series and numerous bestselling standalone thrillers. His novels combine suspense, humor, and memorable characters, making him a favorite among mystery and thriller readers.

Before becoming a novelist, Goldman enjoyed a successful career as a television writer, working on popular shows including “Seinfeld,” “Ellen,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and “Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.” His television background and experience as a novelist offer a unique perspective on storytelling across two very different mediums.

During the evening, Goldman will share stories from his television and writing career, discuss his creative process, and talk about his books, including “Liar's Creek,” “The Prohibited, Cold Secrets,” and the upcoming “Fools Landing.” Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session and meet Goldman following the presentation.

Independent bookseller Chapter2 Books of Hudson will be on site with books available for purchase and signing. Readers are encouraged to preorder books through Chapter2 Books to ensure availability at the event.

The program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
