UW-Eau Claire EAU CLAIRE – Five hundred eighty-two incoming freshmen received scholarships from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for the 2021-22 academic year, with many students receiving multiple awards. Each award varies in amount and criteria.

Bay City: Hope Turvaville, Freshman Honors Scholarship, Ellsworth High School

Beldenville: Haley Herem, Blugold Achievement Scholarship, Ellsworth High School

Elmwood: Brooklyn Link, Alden Health Care & Senior Living HCAD Freshman Scholarship, Elmwood High School; Natalie Mark, Freshman Honors Scholarship, Kevin & Christine Keane Blugold Promise Scholarship, Plum City High School

River Falls: Marcus Vitt, Chancellors Academic Excellence Scholarship, Diversity Achievement Scholarship, River Falls High School

Spring Valley: Nolan Stans, Freshman Honors Scholarship, Spring Valley High School

Bemidji State University

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Local students earned degrees from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn., during the 2020-2021 school year. Bemidji State University, located amid the lakes and forests of northern Minnesota, occupies a wooded campus along the shore of Lake Bemidji. Enrolling around 5,000 students, Bemidji State offers 70 undergraduate areas of study and eight graduate degrees encompassing arts, sciences and select pre-professional programs.

River Falls: Paige Oase, Bachelor of Science in nursing; Alexandra Voiles, Bachelor of Science in nursing; Cody Wilkens, Bachelor of Science in business administration.

University of Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa — This fall’s incoming undergraduate class at the University of Iowa — a group that includes Olivia Bell of River Falls — has yet again topped previous records in achievement with a higher average high school grade-point average (GPA), at 3.81, than any previous class. The average high school GPAfor the classes of 2024 and 2023 were 3.78 and 3.76, respectively.

Bell is majoring in Pre-Medicine in Iowa’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Southern New Hampshire University

MANCHESTER, N.H.— It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the summer 2021 Dean’s List.

Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.
