Race for Village Presdient is on in Ellsworth, some seats need write-in candidates
With the spring election, more than 70 years of experience will step off the Ellsworth Village Board.
That’s a wealth of knowledge and community information, and three local leaders are looking for new peoples to step up and take over now.
In Ellsworth, Village President Gerald DeWolfe isn’t seeking re-election, nor are Village Board Members Neil Gulbranson and Curt Wandmacher.
There will be a race for village president, as current village board members Michael Steele and Becky Beissel both filed to run for the position. Incumbent trustee Lance Austin was the only person to file for three open seats.
So, there will need to be two write-in candidates for those positions. Write-ins can register their intentions at the Ellsworth Village Hall.
The time is now to get involved. With Beissel or Steele moving on to the village president spot, that means that shortly after April, there’s a third open seat on the village
