One killed, one hurt in Pierce County accidents

A Prescott man was killed after he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck a light pole in the Town of River Falls Wednesday.

At 4:34 pm, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a onevehicle crash on CTH E near 690th Avenue.

It was determined a 1998 Buick LeSabre operated by Gary Urman, 60, of Prescott, was traveling southbound on CTH E. Urman lost control of his vehicle and entered the west ditch and struck a power pole.

After lifesaving efforts, Mr. Urman was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by River Falls Area Ambulance, River Falls Fire Department, and River Falls Police Department.

One-vehilce crash near Bay Ctiy

On Saturday, June 6th, about 2:31 am, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one-vehicle accident on Highway 35 near CTH D near Bay City in Isabelle Township.

It was determined a 2008 Chevy Impala being operated by Andrew Rohrich 25 years old from Saint Paul, MN was traveling northbound on Highway 35, when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the east ditch striking numerous trees.

Rohrich was transported from the scene by Red Wing Ambulance Service to Red Wing Mayo Hospital in Red Wing, MN with undetermined injuries.

Assisting the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were Red Wing Fire Department and Red Wing Ambulance Service.
