Have you noticed the uptick in young people buzzing around on electric scooters and bikes? My first thought is: it’s too bad those same kids aren’t pedaling around on a normal bike getting the added benefit of being more physically active. My second thought is: riding around on a self-propelled bike or scooter is certainly much better than being buried indoors with an electronic focus. My third thought is: I own an electric bike.
Three years ago, I bought an electric Rambo bike to use specifically when I elk hunt in the mountains. Right after purchasing the bike, I bought a bike helmet and I was pleased to see that most of the kids in my neighborhood wear helmets when riding their electric bikes and scooters.
Using my bike for elk hunting sure is a step saver. Almost all morning elk hunts start by going up the mountain and it sure helps getting there without expending a lot of energy. That’s a huge plus because my body’s fuel tank doesn’t hold has much as it used to. If you’re an aging elk hunter like me, you understand that all too well.

Even though I originally bought my Rambo for a specific purpose, it didn’t take long for me to figure out more ways to us it. Like…

……. picking up the mail,

…... running a trap line,

….. getting to the Rush to trout fish,

…… getting to a tree stand,

…… and replacing trail cam batteries.
So you can see that my bike gets a lot of use. Overall, it’s been pretty dependable. I’ve only had to replace the brakes which is understandable considering the steep mountain trails that I travel. As far as a complaint, I only have one: I should have gotten a bike sooner.
