At the Monday, July 6th meeting of the Planning Commission, the City of Prescott was presented the final plat for The Palmetto Subdivision by engineer Matt Hieb. The first of two phases will be the single-family homes and about half of the twin homes, as well as the stormwater drainage system. Hieb informed the council that the waste, sewer and stormwater systems have been approved by the State of Wisconsin.
Mayor David Hovel discussed possibly spacing out the twin homes in the second phase. Commissioner Eggers asked about street lighting. Hieb stated Xcel has the streetlight plan worked out and city staff has agreed to the placement of the streetlights. When asked how long it would take to complete the grading, Hieb stated it would take about 6-8
weeks. Melyssa Rice of Monroe St. asked about the stormwater. Hieb stated the stormwater has been engineered to meet stormwater quality and quantity, and engineered for the 5, 50 and 100-year rainfall events. It was explained that it was designed so that in the event of a 100-year rainfall event, the water would go over Borner St.
Commissioner Rob Daughterty made a motion for approval that was seconded by Commissioner
Steve Eggers to approve phase one of the final plat for Palmetto Subdivision before the plan was also approved by the Prescott City Council on Monday night, July 13th.
The commission also discussed how the existing streets and easements for the Filkins-Harris Subdivision need to be vacated and then replatted. The hearing for the street vacations will be July 27, 2020 at the City Council meeting.
