Ellsworth had two games on the road last week. Tuesday, the fell to Somerset 60-68. Friday, New Richmond beat them 61-95.
Sophomore Spencer Schultz and junior Shane Lange led the team in scoring with 14 apiece. Senior Ivan Mendez led the Panthers with six assists to accompany ten points, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Junior Mason Anderson led the team in rebounding with eight and scored nine points. Sophomore Tanner Pechacek finished with eight points, three rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal. Sophomore Jack Janke tallied five points, three assist, two rebounds and a steal.
Ty Madden led Somerset with 20 points.
Against New Richmond, Mason Anderson led the Panthers with 20 points, five rebounds, a pair of steals and an assist. Shane Lange was close behind with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Matthew Mehrkens, Ivan Mendez and Spencer Schultz all finished with six points and combined for eight rebounds. Mendez dished out six assists as well.
Senior Joey Kidder led New Richmond off the bench with 44 points on the Tiger’s Senior Night.
The Panthers host Osceola (2-11 in MBC play) Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in their last scheduled game before playoffs start. Tuesday, March 3rd the #9 Panthers will play at #8 Hayward. The winner goes on to play #1 seeded Prescott the following Friday.
