The Pierce County Journal is pleased to announce the addition of intern Andrew Harrington who will be doing reporting and photography work for the Journal over the summer.
Harrington recently completed his junior year at Iowa State University as a Journalism and Mass Communications major and a General Business minor. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 2020.
At Iowa State Harrington has been a member of the Iowa State Daily news organization for three years, working as a sports reporter, editor and most recently a managing editor. He will be editor-in-chief during the coming year.
Harrington plans to improve by writing about a wide variety of topics and to get a feel for a newsroom environment.
Growing up in Ellsworth, Harrington is familiar with the area, and has already gotten going on his work.
“Andrew has jumped in with both feet, covering news in River Falls, Prescott and Ellsworth,” said Editor Sarah Nigbor. “His willingness to tackle any subject with curiosity and eagerness makes him a great addition to our news team. I enjoy helping foster the next generation of local journalists.”
