Petryk column: Christmas wishes to you

Posted

With Christmas right around the corner, I always take this time to look back and be thankful for the amazing opportunity that you have provided me to be your State Representative for the past 14 incredible years.

As I step away from this role, I look back on the many meaningful experiences I’ve had — from meeting people from all walks of life to hearing their stories and advocating for their needs. I’ve had the chance to watch kids that I spoke with regarding civics in our great nation, grow up and become productive citizens who will be our future leaders.

It has been my privilege and opportunity to congratulate folks when they are presented with their Eagle Scout citation or when they receive their certificate of naturalization. I will also miss helping the good people of Western Wisconsin when they had issues with their state government.

As Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “To everything there is a season…” and now it is time for me to turn the page to a new chapter.

When I look toward the next chapter of history for our great state, I continue to be optimistic. Since I was first elected, I have worked to reduce the tax burden, create a great business climate, ensure our community schools have the resources they need, and protect our natural environment through programs like the Stewardship Fund and clean water initiatives. It is my hope that these will continue to be the priorities of our state going forward.

While my service as your current State Representative is coming to an end, my commitment to the people of the Chippewa Valley remains strong. I look forward to working to keeping the area strong in the future and still seeing everyone in the community. This Christmas, I wish you joy, peace, and many blessings during this time of year and that the New Year continues to bring prosperity to our amazing state and nation.

Thank you once again for your support.

Forever your humble and grateful servant.

Christmas, Warren Petryk, retirement, politics
