Prescott High School music students recently participated in two area events that exposed them to new ways of singing, playing and performing.

Dorian Honors Choir is held in Decorah, Iowa at Luther College. This competitive honor choir is only open to juniors and seniors. Seven PHS choir members attended this year. Zoe Anthony was given an honorable mention for her performance of her solo, "Ombra Mai Fu" during the festival.

Numerous band and choir students attended the St. Croix Valley Music Educators Association (SCVMEA) at Hudson High School along with students from surrounding school districts. Sixteen PSD choir students, composed of four quartets, sang under the direction of Dr. Cera Babb; Dr. Babb is the Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Nine PHS band members also attended the SCVMEA and learned under the direction of Thomas Gamboa, Assistant Professor of Instrumental Conducting at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
