Prescott – The Prescott High School speech team competed at the district tournaments on March 7 at Prescott and March 23 in Menomonie. Students with high enough scores qualified for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech and Dramatic Arts Association State competition, which will occur on April 19-20.
The team was led by Sophia Kapsh who had perfect scores in Farrago, followed by Hunter Dearborn (Expository and Impromptu), Kyra Dix (Expository), Kassidy Hanson (Expository), Abby Stubbe (Extemporaneous Speaking and Moments in History), Kendra and MaKenna Ogilvie (Group Interpretation), Camryn Rickers and Alissa Zerneke (Group Interpretation), Riley Renteria and Sage Brock (Group Interpretation), Mack Eggers (Impromptu), Grace Ryan (Impromptu and Oratory), Katie Huppert (Impromptu and Special Occasion), Nora Boles (Oratory), Allie Tibayan (Moments in History), Sophie Perez (Moments in History), Owen Henderson (Prose), Andaria Henderson (Prose), Tylar Whaley (Prose), Max Dearborn (Radio News Reporting), Rory Zuehlsdorf (Special Occasion), and Cara Fiedler (Special Occasion).
You can see the students perform at their Speech Showcase on April 15 starting at 7 p.m. at Prescott High School. The event is free and open to the public.
