The Prescott High School Speech Team competed at the Menomonie High School Speech Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10. In a field of 11 teams, PHS earned 33 points, narrowly taking second place in Team Sweepstakes.
Leading the Cardinals were Sophia Kapsh, who placed first in Farrago and Abby Stubbe who placed first in Extemporaneous Speaking and fourth in Moments in History. Also earning individual awards: Hunter Dearborn (fifth in Expository), Sophie Perez (third in Moments in History), Allie Tibayan (second in Moments in History), Emma Schmitz (fifth in Oratory), Nora Boles (second in Oratory), Owen Henderson (third in Prose), Max Dearborn (fourth in Radio News Reporting), and Rory Zuehlsdorf (third in Special Occasion). Just out of medal contention included MaKenna and Kendra Ogilvie in Group Interpretation, Andaria Henderson in Prose, and Tylar Whaley in Prose.
