Durand hosted a quadrangular match on Thursday featuring Prescott, Durand, Osceola and Glenwood City. Prescott lost all three matches, but again wrestled well. Durand defeated Prescott 42-30, but in the four matches that were wrestled, Prescott wrestlers won two of the four matches. Conference foe Osceola narrowly defeated Prescott, 27-25. Cardinal wrestlers again fared well, this time winning four of six matches. Glenwood City topped Prescott 48-30, but Prescott’s wrestlers won five of seven matches.
Benny Olson wrestled at 106 pounds for Prescott. Olson went 3-0 on the day, winning twice by forfeit and once by fall in just 44 seconds in his third match.
At 126 pounds, Alex Iberg dominated for the Cardinals. Iberg won all three of his matches. All three wins were by fall, two wins in under a minute.
Brody Linder wrestled for Prescott at 138 pounds. Linder had a tough day, going 0-3.
Nolan Thomley returned to the 145pound class for Prescott after wrestling at 138 in the past quadrangular. Nolan went 1-2 on the day. Nolan won and lost by fall. He also won a 6-2 decision.
At 152 pounds, Sam Murphy wrestled for the Cardinals. Murphy continued to wrestle well, going 3-0 on the day. Sam won once by forfeit. He also won twice by fall.
Shane Butler would wrestle at 160 pounds, winning two of three matches. One win by forfeit, one 11-1 major decision win, and a loss by fall.
At 170 pounds, Alex Holt took the mat for the Cardinals. Alex won all three matches on the day. He won a tough 6-5 decision, along with two falls. His win against Durand took just 17 seconds!
The Cardinals will wrestle in the WIAA Regional Meet to be held at Arcadia Saturday.
