Claire Miller, of Pierce County, was the first-place winner of the WI Land+Water Youth Education Committee 68th Annual Conservation Awareness Poster Contest (grades 7-9). She was honored at organization’s 72nd conservation conference in Green Bay March 5-7, 2025.
The poster contest drew entries from students in five age divisions. This year’s theme, “Home is Where the Habitat Is,” challenged students to creatively illustrate the importance of healthy habitats in supporting wildlife and ecosystems. Posters that advanced from local contests were displayed at the conference, where attendees voted for the entries they felt best conveyed the conservation message.
First-place posters from each division will advance to represent Wisconsin at the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Poster Contest at the NACD Annual Meeting.
