Pierce County 4-H holds Awards Day

ELMWOOD – The Pierce County 4-H Awards Day was held on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Elmwood Auditorium. Many thanks to all who pitched in from the Spring Valley and Elmwood area 4-H clubs to help make the 2021-2022 Awards Program a success: Elm Valley Patriots, Heartland Hustlers, Martell Rushers, Merri-Heirs, Olivet Otters and Valley Eagles.

Below is a list of award recipients: Key Award: Claire Anderson, Valley Eagles. The Key Award is the highest county level 4-H award a member can receive.

Farm Bureau Award: Meggan Daniels,

Town & Country; Cody Holcomb, Elm Valley Patriots. This award recognizes one boy and one girl who have applied their leadership skills in agriculture and actively participated in their club and community.

Family, Home & Health Award: Nora Boles, St. Croix Stars; honorable mention: Niki Miller, Falcon Falls. This award recognizes an outstanding member who had done exemplary work and shown leadership in the Family, Home & Health projects.

Arts & Communication Award: Emily Odegard, River Ramblers; honorable mention, Meggan Daniels, Town & Country. This award recognizes an outstanding member who has demonstrated abilities and shown leadership in the cultural arts projects.

Natural Science Award: Jacob Sammon,

Town & Country; Brady Cebulla, Valley Eagles; honorable mention: Sam Hines, Helpful Workers This award recognizes an outstanding member who has demonstrated abilities and shown leadership in the Natural Science projects.

Outstanding Livestock Member Award: Cora Capatske, Country Partners, Beef; Val Achenbach, Heartland Hustlers, Swine; Octavia Hueschele, Falcon Falls, Goat; Kaylee Bazille, Spring Valley FFA, Sheep. This award recognizes outstanding members who have demonstrated leadership in the livestock projects.

Jim Geraets Memorial Scholarship Award:

Jake Shafer, Madelyn Kopp, Kayleigh Volkman and Mattie Wilk. This award is given to a member who is in their first or second year of showing livestock Friends of 4-H Award: Jim & Justin Harsdorf, Mei Mei’s Cookies & Creamery,

and Katie Christenson. This award is given to individuals and businesses who support our 4-H program.

H.G. Seyforth Outstanding Leader Award:

Sara Anderson, Jessica Gale and Paul Daniels. This award is given to individuals who have served as volunteer leaders in their clubs, counties, state and nationally.

Bank Award: Brooke Meyer, Town & Country; Peyton Freund, Maiden Rock Rockets; Noah Hines, Helpful Workers; Hope Turvaville, Busy Fingers; Addison Peters, Busy Fingers. This award is given to outstanding graduating 4-H members who have displayed leadership skills on the club, county, and state level.

Secretary Award: Lilliana Mariana, Martell Rushers. This award is given to the outstanding Secretary who has done an exemplary job of keeping club records.

Scrapbook Awards: Falcon Falls, Maiden Rock Rockets, Country Partners. This award is given clubs who have submitted their scrapbooks and show their projects they have worked on through the year.
