Deputies responded to a one-motorcycle crash at 8:24 p.m. Aug. 10 on 1250th Street just south of 720th Avenue in the town of Clifton. A 2007 Yamaha YZFR1, operated by Derek Daniel Bennett,
22, River Falls, was traveling northbound on 1250th Street when it struck a deer in the roadway and overturned. Bennett contacted family, who transported him to River Falls Area Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Another family member removed the motorcycle from the scene, which had disabling damage. Bennett was wearing a full helmet.
Officers responded at 3:02 p.m. Aug. 11 to a one-vehicle crash on US Highway 10 just east of County Road QQ in the town of Oak Grove. A 2007 Buick Lucerne, driven by William Paul Bastian, 16, River Falls, was heading east on Highway 10. He attempted to turn into a driveway at W11265 Highway 10, but was traveling too fast and slid off the driveway into the ditch, where it overturned onto its roof. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Bastian and two passengers, a 15-year-old Prescott juvenile and a 14-year-old Prescott juvenile, all wore seat belts and reported no injuries.
Police were notified at 5:09 a.m. Aug. 14 of an ambulance vs. deer crash on Highway 29 just east of County Road E in the town of River Falls. The 2011 Chevrolet ambulance, driven by Terri Lynn Falkner, 45, River Falls, struck a deer, causing minor damage. Falkner wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.
