Officers were called at 2:33 p.m. April 19 to a two-vehicle crash in Spring Valley High School (S1450 County Road CC) parking lot between a 2018 Ford F150, driven Richard Charles Magler Jr., 65, Boyceville, and a legally parked 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, owned by Jonathan Robert Lamettry, 38, Colfax. Magler was pulling into a parking spot next to Lamettry and sideswiped his vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash at 7:31 a.m. April 22 on County Road F just north of Highway 29 in the town of Clifton. A 2023 Ford Edge, driven by Brittani Leigh Williams, 38, Cottage Grove, Minn., was heading south on County Road F. Williams said she tried to avoid a large object in the road and tried to pull onto the shoulder, but went into the ditch instead. The vehicle had to be towed out and had functional damage. Williams reported no injuries.
Deputies responded at 8:50 a.m. April 22 to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 35 just north of 68th Avenue in the town of Oak Grove. A 2017 Volvo VN semi, driven by Segundo Gerardo Guaman Landi, 44, Fridley, Minn., was heading south on Highway 35 when his load, a flatbed trailer hauling a shipping container, shifted. A witness said the load appeared to be top heavy, and the semi and trailer overturned on the operator’s side of the vehicle. The semi and trailer then slid southbound on the road and the shipping container detached and slid into a guard rail, causing damage. The semi and trailer returned to an upright position and came to rest in the western ditch. The semi had to be towed due to disabling damage. EMS transported Guaman Landi to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with suspected serious injuries.
Officers were called at 4:38 a.m. April 23 to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 63 just north of 825th Street in the town of Trenton between a 2020 milk truck, driven by Jordan Lee Madison, 30, Wilton, and a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by David Alexander Milam, 33, Red Wing, Minn. Madison was heading north on Highway 63 with Milam behind him. Milam began to pass Madison on the right in the bypass lane near 825th Street and entered the gravel shoulder. Milam attempted to re-enter the road and struck the right front corner of the milk truck with his rear left rear corner, at which point he spun out across the roadway and came to rest on the west side. No injuries were reported. The milk truck had functional damage while the Chevy was towed due to disabling damage. Milam was cited for unsafe passing on right.
Deputies responded at 2:47 p.m. April 25 to a one-vehicle crash on County Road F one-third of a mile south of County Road MM in the town of Clifton. A 1991 Chevy G20, driven by Christopher Joseph Damico, 41, Prescott, was heading south on County Road F when the passenger side tire popped and the vehicle went off the road into the ditch. Damico tried to get the vehicle out of the field and caused damage. He made it back onto the road and came back to the scene later. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Damico reported no injuries; he was cited for operate motor vehicle without insurance.
Police were dispatched at 10:29 p.m. April 25 to a motorcycle crash on County Road S one-third of a mile south of 290th Street in the town of Maiden Rock. A 2000 Harley Davidson XL883, driven by Kolten James Bongard, 28, Pepin, was traveling northbound on County Road S, failed to negotiate a curve and entered the road’s gravel portion, then the east ditch. The motorcycle struck a culvert and came to rest in the ditch. The motorcycle was towed due to disabling damage. Bongard reported no injuries. EMS transported passenger Tabitha Jean Breland, 30, Boyceville, to Red Wing Mayo with suspected serious injuries. Bongard wore a helmet, while Breland did not. Bongard was arrested for OWI and operating while revoked (alcohol related).
Deputies were dispatched at 2:30 a.m. May 3 to a hit and run crash on Highway 63 at Highway 10 in the town of Trimbelle. Aun unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 10 struck a flash/stop sign and fled the area. Officers were dispatched at 12:57 p.m. May 5 to a motorcycle crash on County Road F just north of Highway 29 in the town of Clifton. A 2016 Harley Davidson FLHXSE, operated by Charles Lee Cook, 46, Gem Lake, Minn., was heading southbound on County Road F when it met a tractor heading northbound. Cook said the tractor was causing dust and rocks to go into the air. Cook attempted to move over onto the shoulder and entered the ditch. The motorcycle was towed due to disabling damage. Cook and passenger Alexis Lauren Cook, 23, Gem Lake, Minn., were transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul by ambulance, Charles Cook with suspected serious injuries and Alexis Cook with possible injuries.
Police responded at 4:26 p.m. May 5 to a motorcycle crash on Highway 72 just south of 630th Avenue in the town of Rock Elm. A 2016 Harley Davidson FLHTK, operated by Jeffrey Alan Kerg, 69, Elmwood, was heading west on Highway 72 negotiating a curve when a deer came out of the woods, which Kerg struck. He was able to keep the motorcycle upright until it stopped, then tipped. The Harley was towed due to disabling damage. EMS transported Kerg to Mayo Hospital in Menomonie with suspected minor injuries.
Officers were dispatched at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 63 near 150th Avenue in the town of Trenton. A 2022 Honda Civic, driven by Brendan Kirby, 32, Prescott, was traveling southbound on Highway 63 when it struck a 2013 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Dale Edgar, 78, Kasson, Minn., who was heading north on Highway 63. Red Wing Ambulance transported Edgar and his passenger, Julie Edgar, 77, Kasson, Minn., to Mayo Red Wing Hospital with undetermined injuries. Kirby was not injured. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Red Wing Fire Department and Red Wing Ambulance.
