Pierce County accidents: March 25-April 7, 2025

Deputies were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash at 5:18 p.m. March 25 on Highway 35 just west of 570th Street in the town of Isabelle. A 2010 Toyota Sienna, driven by Patricia Lee Mory, 70, Ellsworth, was heading south when she saw a rock in the road. She didn’t have time to react and other vehicles were coming in the opposite lane, so she attempted to straddle the rock. When she came to the top of the hill, she saw smoke coming out of the vehicle and turned onto County Road D. The vehicle was leaking oil from a hole in the oil pan. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 2:58 a.m. March 30 at 128 Main St. in Elmwood. A 2007 Chevy Silverado, driven by Ruben Tinoco Gutierrez, 33, Elmwood, entered the parking lot behind 128 N. Main St., backed up after pulling in and struck an electrical box. He then pulled forward into a parking spot. Gutierrez said he didn’t remember hitting anything so didn’t report it. Witnesses saw him strike the electrical box. The vehicle had no damage. Gutierrez and passenger Winston Josue Miranda Sanchez, 26, Elmwood, reported no injuries. Gutierrez was cited for operate without valid license and operate motor vehicle without insurance. Alcohol use was a suspected factor in the crash.

Police were called to a one-vehicle crash at 8:49 a.m. March 30 at County Road G and 110th Street in the town of Spring Lake. A 2024 Nissan Altima, driven by Gregory Lee Chermack, 56, Elmwood, was traveling westbound on County Road G. He attempted to use 110th Street to make a U-turn but entered the ditch. The vehicle had functional damage. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 6:18 p.m. March 30 on Highway 35 just east of 530th Street in the town of Isabelle. A 2013 Ford Edge, driven by Morgan Lyn Bremer, 24, Independence, was traveling north on Highway 35, lost control on the slippery road, entered the eastern ditch and struck a signpost. Bremer was able to back out of the ditch and drove to a nearby gas station to report the accident. The vehicle had minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Deputies responded at 6:55 p.m. March 30 to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 10 just west of 570th Avenue in the town of Oak Grove. A 2008 Chevy Impala, driven by Joel Matthew Kendall, 18, Ellsworth, was heading west on Highway 10. While negotiating a curve, the vehicle lost control on the snowy road and entered the north ditch. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Kendall and passengers Maxwel Walter Dearborn, 18, Prescott, and Hunter James Dearborn, 18, Prescott, reported no injuries.

Police were called to a two-vehicle crash at 12:17 p.m. April 1 at County Road C and 450th Avenue in the town of Ellsworth between a 2004 Chevy Silverado, driven by William Joseph Brookshaw, 77, Ellsworth, and a 2008 GMC C5500, driven by Justin M. Hvarre, 44, Wausau. Brookshaw was traveling south on County Road C approaching 450th Avenue. Hvarre was stopped at the stop sign on 450th Avenue (on the east side of C). He started to cross County Road C and struck Brookshaw’s front driver’s side bumper. The Chevy was towed due to disabling damage, while the GMC had minor damage. Brookshaw reported possible injuries but was not transported. Hvarre was cited for inattentive driving; he reported no injuries.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:32 p.m. April 1 on 490th Avenue just south of Kruger Lane in the town of Ellsworth between a 2021 Ford Escape, driven by Amy Marie Kerr, 44, Hager City, and a 2015 Ford F150, driven by Gordon Michael Pung, 30, Ellsworth. Kerr was traveling westbound trying to get away from Pung. She pulled off to the left to let Pung go by, but he intentionally struck the back of her car, pushing it off the road. He then backed up and struck Kerr’s vehicle again before fleeing the scene. Kerr’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Pung’s vehicle had minor damage. No injuries were reported. Pung was arrested for OWI.

Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash at 5:04 p.m. April 1 on Highway 35 just east of 1200th Street in the town of Oak Grove. A 2013 Chevy Cruze, driven by Dianna Fay Lyng, 52, Prescott, was traveling southbound. Lyng became distracted by her dog, drove onto the gravel shoulder, overcorrected, slipped on the gravel, crossed the center line and went into the ditch, where she overturned and came to rest on the roof. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. There were no injuries.

Officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash at 10:16 p.m. April 1 on Highway 63 just north of County Road KK in the town of Trimbelle. A 2006 Dodge V15, driven by Ashley Danielle Herbert, 39, Ellsworth, was traveling north on Highway 63, lost control, entered the ditch on the west side and overturned. The truck came to rest on its roof. Herbert left the scene before police arrived. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 6:14 p.m. April 3 at highways 35 and 53 in the town of Trenton between a 2015 Ford Explorer, driven by Valerie Lewis, 46, Red Wing, Minn., and a 2011 Lincoln Navigator, driven by Jonah Michael Tuerk, 29, Ellsworth. Lewis was traveling north on Highway 35 and stopped at the stop sign. She failed to yield the right of way to Tuerk, who was traveling north on Highway 63. Lewis made an improper left-hand turn and collided with Tuerk in the intersection. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Officers were dispatched at 7:43 p.m. April 3 to a two-vehicle crash in the parking lot of W4890 Highway 29 in the town of Gilman between a 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Macey Mae Johnston, 31, Maiden Rock, and a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Nicole Ann Young, 39, Spring Valley. Johnston, who was heading north in the parking lot, collided with the rear driver’s side of Young’s vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:27 p.m. April 4 at highways 29 and 63 in the town of Gilman between a 2021 Chevy Tahoe, driven by John Edgar Neiderhauser, 71, Menomonie, and a 2016 Subaru Outback, driven by Cheryl Ann Larsen, 67, Spring Valley. Neiderhauser was stopped at the stop sign on Highway 29 about to make a right turn north onto Highway 63. Larsen was behind him. Neiderhauser crept forward then stopped again to yield to another vehicle. Larsen also crept forward but struck his rear bumper, causing minor damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Police were called to a two-vehicle crash at 6:10 p.m. April 4 at Hager Heights Drive-in in the town of Trenton between a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Kelly Lynn Evans, 52, Red Wing, Minn., and a 2017 Dodge Journey, driven by Brenda Mae McKahan, 54, Ellsworth. Both vehicles were in line at the drive thru. Evans began backing up, didn’t see McKahan behind her and struck her vehicle. Evans’ vehicle had no damage, while McKahan’s vehicle had minor damage. Neither driver nor McKahan’s passenger Paul David Roed, 66, Bay City, reported injuries.

Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 6:28 p.m. April 4 on County Road V just west of County Road C in the town of Hartland between a 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by Tori Ann Marie Fish, 18, Ellsworth, and a 2019 Chevy Silverado, driven by Lucas Remington Moldenhauer, 41, Ellsworth. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on County Road V. Moldenhauer turned on his turn signal indicating a left turn onto 690th Street. Fish was distracted by something that fell on her foot and rear-ended Moldenhauer. Fish’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Moldenhauer’s vehicle had minor damage. No injuries were reported by either driver or passenger Amanda Jo Moldenhauer, 42, Ellsworth.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:20 p.m. April 6 on County Road P/Public Avenue just north of Partridge Avenue in Elmwood. A 2018 Ford Escape, driven by Brandon Matthew Nelson, 27, Spring Valley, was traveling northbound, crossed the center line, entered the ditch, continued up the hillside and struck a cluster of shrubs. The vehicle rolled over once, back toward the road, where it landed on its wheels. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported.

Police were dispatched at 3:20 p.m. April 7 to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 65 one-third of a mile south of County Road J in the town of Ellsworth. A 2008 Chevy Impala, driven by Aidan Michael Tjader, 21, River Falls, was traveling northbound, veered toward the ditch, overcorrected and rolled, coming to a stop in the southbound ditch. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Tjader had suspected minor injuries but was not transported. He was arrested and cited for OWI, failure to keep vehicle under control and operating with PAC.
