The following incidents were reported to Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Aug. 15-22.
Monday, Aug. 15
Officers assisted River Falls police with a K9 sniff at 1:09 a.m. at 222 S. Main St. Cocaine was located in a vehicle.
Police assisted Pierce County Human Services with a welfare check on a man at 9:08 a.m. at N1787 150th St., Plum City. The man stated he was fine; he was told not to go back to his neighbor’s property.
Deputies responded at 11:36 a.m. to N8631 1160th St., River Falls, for a trespassing complaint. The caller said a neighbor had mowed some of his hay crop in his field without his permission. The neighbor admitted to mowing on the property, but said he didn’t know it was hay. He was cited for trespassing.
A caller reported an unknown vehicle parked in his driveway at 7:03 p.m. at W11408 Highway 35, Prescott. The caller cancelled his request for police a short time later.
Officers assisted Prescott Fire with a struck gas line at 7:08 p.m. at W13169 640th Ave., Prescott.
Deputies assisted River Falls police with a suspicious person who was arrested for a warrant at 7:42 p.m. at Cascade Avenue and State Street.
River Falls police asked deputies to respond at 8:36 p.m. to 121 S. Main St. to retrieve items from a residence. They were retrieved and brought to RFPD.
A caller asked deputies to drive through Cudd’s Court (1450 S. Wasson Lane, River Falls) at 10:23 p.m. due to suspicious activity. Nothing was noted.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 11:10 p.m. near County Road DD and Highway 10. Both drivers swerved to miss a deer and collided. An accident report will be completed.
Tuesday, Aug. 16
A caller reported suspicious activity at 2:53 a.m. at W6357 Main St., Bay City. Police located nothing in the area. They were called back, but again located nothing in the area.
An anonymous caller reported a possible neglected donkey at 8:09 a.m. at N6120 610th St., Beldenville. The donkey’s owner said she feeds it and gives it fresh water.
A caller reported a suspicious person walking around on their property at 10:43 a.m. at W7274 Highway 35, Bay City. The person had said he was looking at RV parking and left.
A caller reported a milk truck for throwing up a rock and breaking her windshield at 11:59 a.m. near Highway 29 and 805th Street, River Falls. Police advised her to report it to her insurance company.
Officers performed a welfare check at 12:05 p.m. at W1184 355th Ave., Plum City, due to a man’s strange behavior. He was later taken to the hospital by family.
A gas drive-off was reported at 1:45 p.m. at W6396 Highway 35, Bay City. The vehicle was found at a Plum City residence; the driver said she would call and pay for the gas.
At 3:17 p.m., a deputy told a person at the courthouse (414 W. Main St., Ellsworth) that he was under arrest for an Ashland County warrant. He fled on foot, but police apprehended him and transported him to the jail. He was also charged with resisting.
Officers received a suspicious person complaint at 2:45 p.m. at 147 W. Wilson Ave., Elmwood. No one was found.
Police received a suspicious vehicle complaint at 3:55 p.m. from W8972 520th Ave., Ellsworth. The caller reported a vehicle parked on a dead-end road. The driver said his vehicle had broken down and he was waiting for a tow service. He had pulled off the main highway to wait.
Officers were asked to perform a welfare check on a confused driver who was all over the road at 4:30 p.m. near W11980 Highway 29, Prescott. The driver’s husband said he was going to be taking her to the hospital.
A caller reported a driving complaint at 4:58 p.m. at W10299 Highway 10, River Falls. The caller said motorcycle were blocking traffic so other motorcycles could enter the parking lot. The road was clear when officers arrived.
At 5:12 p.m., police spoke to a man at N1299 825th St., Hager City, who said someone was drilling holes in his gas tank and stealing gas.
Officers responded to a trespassing complaint at 5:31 p.m. at N6241 490th St., Beldenville. Police collected information and photos.
At 6:32 p.m., a caller reported illegal activities happening at N1620 County Road VV, Hager City.
Police responded at 8:55 p.m. to W5334 Highway 63, Spring Valley, where a man had a tent set up. The man said he was homeless and living there. He was told he could stay the night but had to leave the next day. He was also provided with a list of resources.
Deputies responded to a shooting complaint at 9:10 p.m. at N3588 1005th St., Hager City. Nothing was found.
Police checked on a woman walking near the highway at 11:50 p.m. near Highway 63 and 770th Street, Hager City. She was given a courtesy ride to River Falls.
Wednesday, Aug. 17
Officers responded to a theft complaint at 4:51 a.m. at N6531 1250th St., Prescott. The complainant found all the items, which were not stolen.
At 10:02 a.m., police responded to W5334 Highway 63, Spring Valley, for man camping overnight. He said he was working on getting packed up and would leave that day.
A woman reported trouble with her upstairs neighbor at 12:43 p.m. at N1109 530th St., Bay City. She said she didn’t think he took anything from her car; she was advised to lock her car and avoid talking to him until she moves out.
At 1:07 p.m., a woman at N735 825th St., Hager City, called police to report that she was storing some items for her deceased friend. The friend’s family had gone through the belongings and wanted to take nothing. However, she said she’s been receiving called from unknown people wanting to come get the belongings. She said no on eis welcome on her property without a court order.
At 3:16 p.m., a caller at N1109 530th St., Bay City reported her vintage BB gun stolen from her residence. She said the landlord is the only one who has keys to the home and the home is always locked when she leaves. Officers spoke to all parties involved.
Officers responded to a workplace injury call at 3:50 p.m. at N8539 County Road B, Spring Valley.
Officers responded to a business alarm at 5:05 p.m. at W3930 Highway 72, Ellsworth. They located an open door and searched the building, locating nothing. The key holder was called to secure the open door.
Deputies responded to a verbal argument at 6:30 p.m. at 104 Cherry Ave., Plum City. A door was also broken during the altercation. The male party was cited for disorderly conduct and agreed to leave.
Thursday, Aug. 18
Officers responded at 11:35 a.m. to S211 McKay Ave., Spring Valley for an underage tobacco sale. The bartender was cited.
Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 11:55 a.m. near 770th Avenue and 850th Street, River Falls. The driver struck a mailbox while negotiating a curve. The vehicle was towed.
A downed tree in the road was reported at 1:41 p.m. near County Road D and 290th Avenue, Bay City.
A complainant requested police speak with a homeowner about items he was burning at 2:13 p.m. at W8328 Highway 35, Hager City. The man said he had burned some household trash. He was told to properly dispose of or recycle items that shouldn’t be burned.
At 5:09 p.m., police responded to N7279 County Road F, River Falls, for a vehicle that crashed into the tree then fled the scene. St. Croix County located the driver and arrested them for OWI.
Officers were notified of a tree across the roadway at 6:12 p.m. near Highway 10 and 490th Avenue, Ellsworth.
A tree was blocking traffic at 6:18 p.m. near Highway 65 and County Road O, River Falls. A passerby stopped and cut the tree up off the roadway.
At 11:34 p.m., a vehicle struck a tree in the roadway near 690th Avenue and County Road CC, Spring Valley. The vehicle was towed.
Friday, Aug. 19
Police received an animal complaint at 3:06 p.m. about cats in a trailer at W2332 County Road G, Elmwood.
A caller reported a barking dog at 3:16 p.m. at N8874 200th St., Spring Valley. A voicemail was left for the dog’s owner.
Police received a report about an injured owl at 7:32 p.m. at N4336 County Road K, Ellsworth. The DNR was notified.
Saturday, Aug. 20
Deputies assisted River Falls police and UW-River Falls police with a fight in progress at 2:56 a.m. at 106 N. Main St.
A suspicious vehicle was reported at 7:45 a.m. near Highway 63 and 490th Avenue, Ellsworth. Nothing was located.
Officers responded to a motorcycle crash with injury at the Wieser Concrete gravel pit near 400th Street ad Highway 10 at 9:48 a.m. They assisted fire and EMS personnel as needed.
At 9:59 a.m., police were dispatched to a vehicle fire inside a barn at N3947 County Road CC, Maiden Rock.
Deputies assisted Spring Valley police with a warrant arrest at 10:15 a.m. at W1204 Maryann St.
A caller reported a tree blocking the road at 12:19 p.m. at Highway 10 and 560th Avenue (west), Prescott.
Deputies assisted River Falls police with a domestic assault report at 12:43 p.m. near Hamilton Drive and State Street, River Falls.
At 3:12 p.m., police responded to 712 First St., Plum City, for an unwanted person. She was told to request a “standby and keep the peace” visit if she wants to collect more property.
A caller reported a woman acting oddly, walking down the highway at 3:59 p.m. near County Road E and 620th Avenue, River Falls. Police didn’t locate her at that time, but located her later. She was listed as a missing person from Prairie Island; she refused all help. Prairie Island was notified and she left the scene.
Officers performed a welfare check on a woman they deal with often, who was walking down the road at 6:49 p.m. near County Road K and Highway 35, Hager City. She denied needing a ride or any assistance.
At 8:12 p.m., a caller reported a raccoon under the deck at W4230 455th Ave., Ellsworth. It refused to come out from its hiding spot.
Police responded to a shooting and fireworks complaint at 8:57 p.m. at W5833 County Road N, Beldenville. Multiple parties said they’d been shooting during the day and used small fireworks at night. They were warned about fireworks laws.
Deputies responded to a multiple person fight at 11:25 p.m. at N1689 County Road VV, Hager City. One man was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Sunday, Aug. 21
A caller reported suspicious activity at 12:43 a.m. at N575 County Road C, Ellsworth. A vehicle was parked at a home for sale. The suspect said he was the realtor and provided police with paperwork and a business card. He didn’t have a valid ID and had to call for a courtesy ride.
Police located a suspicious vehicle at 3 a.m. at W4857 Highway 35, Bay City. Nobody was nearby.
Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a juvenile arrest at 8:34 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of East Main Street.
Officers responded to a vandalism complaint at 11:20 a.m. at W6353 Summit Ave., Bay City. The complainant had damage to his car windows and a window on his home.
At 12:50 p.m., a caller reported a cat locked in the car at N6842 570th St., Beldenville. Police advised her to contact a tow or lock service.
Deputies assisted Wisconsin State Patrol with an intoxicated driver at 3:29 p.m. at county roads G and N in El Paso. The man drove through a road closed barricade during the El Paso parade. Citizens stopped him and removed his keys from the car until law enforcement responded. He was arrested for OWI.
Police performed a welfare check on a heavily intoxicated man at 6:11 p.m. at W12074 620th Ave., Prescott. The man requested transport to a hospital for detox.
An unwanted person was reported at 7:58 p.m. at N8323 50th St., Spring Valley. The person left before police arrived.
A caller reported a woman wearing dark clothing walking on the roadway at 9 p.m. near W4857 Highway 35, Bay City. Police located her at the campsite; she said she’d just been out for a walk.
Officers observed a UTV at 10:41 p.m. parked at a stop sign for about five minutes at County Road D and 290th Avenue, Bay City. The UTV had its road lights on and didn’t shut them off when the officer drove by. The driver admitted to drinking and was arrested for OWI/ DNR violation.
Monday, Aug. 22
Officers located a suspicious parked vehicle in the back lot at 3:23 a.m. at N1620 County Road VV, Hager City. There were no signs of forced entry on the building.
