The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Aug. 8-15.
Monday, Aug. 8
Officers responded at 11:40 a.m. to N673 825th St., Hager City, for an assault that had occurred the day before. Interviews were conducted.
Police stopped to assist a disabled vehicle at 7:02 p.m. at Highway 10 and 322nd Avenue, Maiden Rock. The person who arrived to assist the stranded motorist had a failure to appear warrant and was arrested.
Deputies assisted River Falls police at 10:38 p.m. in locating a hit and run driver who had fled into the woods near Foster Cemetery. A K9 officer assisted and the man eventually gave up the chase without incident. He had struck a building at 110 E. Maple St. and fled the scene.
A caller at 105 S. Main St., Elmwood, reported a bar owner for harassment at 10:34 p.m. She said he was harassing her about not picking up dog feces. The bar owner admitted to asking her to pick up the feces, but denied following her.
Tuesday, Aug. 9
A deputy watched a man place a white bag behind a store at 10:11 a.m. and walk into the store (101 N. Maple St., Ellsworth). The man had just been released from jail. He said he put the bag behind the store so he wouldn’t be accused of shoplifting. He called someone for a ride to Prescott.
Deputies received a report of fraudulent activity at 11:17 a.m. at 367 W. Main St., Ellsworth. They assisted Ellsworth police with a dog.
An abandoned vehicle was towed at 12:16 p.m. from the roadway at W12452 655th Ave., Prescott.
At 3:35 p.m., police spoke to a man at W12719 735th Ave., River Falls, who thinks people are following him when he is in Prescott. He was told to call police if he sees the people or vehicles again.
Deputies responded at 6:22 p.m. to W9907 619th Ave., Ellsworth for a dog that lunged at people on the road. Police spoke to both parties regarding property lines and dog at large issues.
At 6:29 p.m., deputies received information about a crash that had occurred last week at Highway 10 and First Street in Plum City. A dump truck had been driving with its box raised and possibly struck an overhead powerline. The line didn’t break, but the power company said a power outage had occurred. The truck had no damage.
Officers assisted Prescott police at 10:24 p.m. at 2065 Pleasant Drive.
Police responded to multiple bars at 10:48 p.m. about a disorderly event that had occurred at N1090 825th St., Hager City. Both parties were warned about their behavior.
Wednesday, Aug. 10
Officers removed a tree from the roadway at 1:04 a.m. at Highway 128 and Partridge Avenue in Elmwood.
At 8:15 a.m., police responded to W7710 County Road J, Beldenville, where a child accidentally ingested medication.
Deputies received an illegal dumping complaint at 6:13 p.m. near Highway 63 and 760th Avenue, Spring Valley.
Suspicious activity was reported at 8:48 p.m. near County Road BB and 770th Avenue, Spring Valley.
A caller reported information on a loud boom in the area at 8:54 p.m. near Highway 10 and County Road E, Hager City.
At 10:38 p.m., police saw a vehicle almost crash into the woods near W9341 830th Ave., River Falls. The driver said she missed her turn and didn’t know where she was going.
Thursday, Aug. 11
Deputies spoke to juveniles at 12:31 a.m. about their music volume and fairgrounds curfew at 364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth.
An officer checked on an unoccupied vehicle with its windows down at 12:41 a.m. near W4857 Highway 35, Bay City. A man in the picnic area said he’d stopped to smoke.
Officers found two juveniles out after curfew at 1:26 a.m. at the fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth). One was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia; the other was cited for possession of THC. At 11:14 a.m., police found a man open carrying a 1911 handgun at the fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth). He was escorted to his vehicle where he locked the gun away. He was warned about the ordinance violation.
At 5:07 p.m., police took a suspicious activity complaint concerning W9665 570th Ave., Ellsworth. The caller said the homeowners were out of town, but saw a vehicle there. It turned out to be internet personnel for Pierce Pepin.
Deputies assisted Prescott police with a juvenile complaint at the Prescott Middle School playground (125 N. Elm St.) at 8:42 p.m.
Officers were notified of a possible “slumper” at 9:13 p.m. near 135th and 150th avenues in Hager City. Police located an unoccupied vehicle, then spoke with two young men who said they’d driven the vehicle and parked it there. They said they were out enjoying the pleasant night.
Police helped a child find her parents at 10:16 p.m. at the fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth).
Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with an intoxicated person at 11:51 p.m. near Main and Utility streets.
Friday, Aug. 12
Officers responded at 2:08 a.m. to W3527 Highway 35, Maiden Rock, for a possible assault. The complainant said a man had displayed a weapon and pointed it at other patrons. The weapon was taken from the man before officers arrived. EMS also responded to evaluate the suspect for injuries sustained during the incident. He was transported to Red Wing Mayo Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Deputies assisted Ellsworth Fire at 6:17 a.m. at N6530 720th St., Beldenville.
At 12:37 p.m., the operator of the “Ring the Bottle” game at the fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth), reported that sometime overnight, someone had stolen a large pink stuffed gorilla.
Police were called at 3:34 p.m. to N1372 Elsa Court, Bay City for a domestic. No one would fill out statements.
At 4:50 p.m., a citizen at N673 825th St., Hager City, asked permission to light 30 Chinese lanterns for a memorial. They were advised to call the township.
Officers heard residents shooting firearms at 5:54 p.m. at N6130 490th St., Beldenville. Because of multiple shooting complaints received, deputies stopped to speak to the shooters.
Saturday, Aug. 13
Deputies assisted jail staff at 2:31 a.m. with a disorderly inmate at 555 W. Overlook Drive, Ellsworth.
At 8:57 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious vehicle in their driveway at W10780 Highway 10, River Falls. The driver was looking for the Ridgetop.
Officers assisted Ellsworth police with a disorderly woman at 12:04 p.m. at 454 High Point Drive.
A caller reported a verbal argument at 1:32 p.m. at N6524 1250th St., Prescott. The parties were arguing over property belonging to a deceased family member. The parties were separated and future options discussed.
Police checked the area around West Industrial Road and North Maple Street in Ellsworth at 2:42 p.m. for a woman making false 911 calls.
A caller reported two stray dogs that may have killed chickens at 6:18 p.m. at N6103 988th St., Ellsworth. All but one chicken was located. One dog fled and the other was contained and picked up by the township.
Officers performed a welfare check on a occupied vehicle at 8:04 p.m. at W4857 Highway 35, Bay City. The man said he was just taking a nap.
Deputies were dispatched at 8:36 p.m. for a driving complaint of a vehicle all over the road near County Road QQ and Highway 10, Prescott. Prescott police located the vehicle arrested the driver for OWI.
Officers stopped a vehicle at 9:53 p.m. at Wisconsin Street and Cemetery Road in River Falls for operating left of center and failing to display a rear license plate. The driver was arrested for OWI.
Sunday, Aug. 14
Police were notified of an underage party at 12:12 a.m. at N2490 390th St., Maiden Rock. Police identified everyone at the scene and made sure they all had sober rides home. The parents were all contacted and the party host was cited.
Officers were called at 1:21 a.m. to N6386 1307th St., Prescott for a noise complaint. The residents agreed to turn the music down.
A caller requested officers at 2:16 p.m. to respond to N6499 Highway 63, Beldenville, where a celebration of life was taking place. The caller wanted other people at the bar to leave, but they were told the bar is open to the general public. A verbal argument had taken place; all parties agreed to not speak to each other and leave each other alone.
Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a domestic arrest at 3:50 p.m. at 141 Evergreen Estates St.
Officers assisted Ellsworth police again with a domestic arrest at 3:58 p.m. at 159 Evergreen Estates St.
Police were called at 7:50 p.m. to Handy Mart (W6396 Highway 35, Bay City) for a dispute that had taken place at the campground and let to the convenience store. A juvenile male was found lying on the ground. The father was cited for possession of THC and the grandmother arrived to collect the child.
Monday, Aug. 15
A K9 officer located cocaine in a vehicle at 222 S. Main St., River Falls.
