The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office June 14-21.
June 14
• A caller reported finding a suspicious seven-strand utility cable in his hay field at 9:21 a.m. at W2738 Highway 72, Elmwood. The caller believes it may have been put there after he raked hay. He said he had not cut hay in that field for a couple of years. He just wanted it documented.
• At 10:51 a.m., PCSO assisted River Falls police at 708 N. Main St. while they arrested a man for felony bail jumping.
• At 1:02 p.m., police were sent to highways 29 and 63 South, where a driver went through a school bus stop arm. Follow up will be done to locate the driver.
• At 3:04 p.m., deputies were called to assist Prescott police with an unwanted person at 475 S. Young St. Their help request was cancelled before PCSO arrived.
• Deputies responded at 6:27 p.m. to N5233 330th St., Elmwood, for a possible injured dog on the roadway. The dog was at its home uninjured.
• A caller requested extra patrol at N1090 825th St., Hager City, at 9:11 p.m. He told police he had seen underage people at that location the previous Saturday night.
• Police were called at 10:34 p.m. to N5832 770th St., Ellsworth, for a vehicle parked in the driveway honking its horn. The vehicle was a mother trying to pick up her son from the residence. The son left with his mom.
• Deputies responded at 10:53 p.m. to N1090 825th St., Hager City, for a vehicle in the ditch called in by the tow company. The vehicle was pulled out and the driver on their way.
June 15
• A third party reported a road rage/assault at 12:12 a.m. near 300th Avenue/650th Street. The third party told police a man had been punched and was in a crash. The man said he didn’t want anything reported and that he was never in a crash.
• Deputies responded to a one-vehicle rollover without injuries at 5:47 a.m. near County Road BB and Highway 29 near Spring Valley.
• At 4:15 p.m., a person reported a vehicle parked in the lot at N1626 County Road VV, Hager City, on the other side of a no trespassing sign. The vehicle belonged to someone from a landscape company mowing the grass.
• At 5:02 p.m., deputies stood by while Spring Valley police conducted a check welfare call at W219 Terrace St.
• At 7:25 p.m., deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a missing juvenile located at 246 Kruger Lane. The juvenile was returned to their parents.
• At 8:48 p.m., an anonymous called told police his neighbor was spreading manure (off 810th Street, River Falls) and they couldn’t stand it.
• At 11:22 p.m., deputies were called to W9852 290th Ave., Hager City, for an unwanted person. The person was very intoxicated and incoherent. EMS evaluated the person, who was then taken to a hotel by a taxi.
• Deputies responded at 11:29 p.m. to W11930 Highway 35, Prescott, where a vehicle had left the scene of a possible deer vs. vehicle crash. The vehicle was not located.
June 16
• A caller reported a suspicious man walking around a building with a flashlight at 1:52 a.m. at W8941 Highway 10, Ellsworth. The suspect told police he was camping there and was looking for a water source so he could take his medications before bed. He returned to his tent.
• Police responded to a check welfare call at 5:11 a.m. near 760th Avenue and Highway 65, River Falls. The man had crashed his vehicle. EMS evaluated and cleared him.
• At 6:47 a.m., police were called to a vehicle that had been parked in the ditch for several days at county roads CC and H near Maiden Rock. Deputies tried to contact the registered owner with no success, so the vehicle was towed.
• Deputies were called at 2:44 p.m. to W3450 850th Ave., Spring Valley, for a round hay bale on fire. They assisted as needed.
• Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 9:05 p.m. at 183 Evergreen Estates St. with an unwanted person/civil matter.
June 17
• A caller requested extra patrol at 1:32 a.m. at N1282 County Road EE, Bay City, due to harassment. The caller asked police to speak to the suspect.
• A runaway juvenile was reported at 8:16 a.m. at N5622 530th St., Ellsworth. Police checked a possible location and did not find the juvenile.
• Deputies assisted Prescott police at 9:04 a.m. at 1800 Canton Road with a suicide.
• Police located stolen playground equipment at 1:21 p.m. at W6778 150th Ave., Bay City. The village requested it be brought back and does not wish to pursue charges due to confusion. The man with the equipment said he’d bring it back.
• At 3:28 p.m., a man reported that someone might be taking plugs out of cattle tanks at N5519 1090th St., Prescott. The man will be investigating.
• A caller requested extra patrol on 290th Avenue at 4:49 p.m. near Bay City. The caller said his neighbor ripped up his driveway the night before with an old car.
• At 7:30 p.m., officers came across a man walking on the side of the road near W7477 Highway 10, Ellsworth. He said he was walking to Idaho. Police offered him a ride to Red Wing due to incoming storms.
• Officers responded at 9:09 p.m. to N4954 Highway 63, Ellsworth, per St. Croix Sheriff’s Office request for a man who violated his bond conditions while on home monitoring. The man was arrested and released to SCSO.
June 18
• Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle at 12:47 a.m. at Highway 63 and 825th Street South, Hager City, for failing to stop, driving left of center and speeding. The driver did not stop and sped into Minnesota. Deputies discontinued the chase at the state line and passed information onto Red Wing authorities.
• While patrolling at 825th Street and Highway 63, Hager City, at 12:53 a.m., officers located a downed tree across the roadway. They notified the township.
• A woman called police at 8:49 a.m. to report four baby birds sitting on her grill at N6570 530th St., Beldenville. She thought they might be quail. She has cats and a dog. The information was passed onto the warden.
• Police were called at 12:18 p.m. to W12000 620th Ave., Prescott, where the caller said he was dumping leaves as the gate was open. A man on a tractor confronted him and an argument started. Police helped settle the matter.
• At 1:50 p.m., someone reported people throwing fireworks from a vehicle at N4081 County Road C, Ellsworth. Nothing was located.
• At 3:28 p.m., a Plum City village employee reported someone had gone around a road closed sign and driven over fresh blacktop. The worker was able to get the marks out of the blacktop with some extra work. The employee wanted contact made with the driver. The registered owner was contacted and said his son had been driving. The son apologized and said it was an accident. Police told him he wouldn’t be cited, but that the village may be in contact.
• Police checked on a woman outside yelling at 6:25 p.m. at N1582 County Road C, Bay City. She said everything was okay.
• Deputies assisted EMS with a person who was burned at
8:50 p.m. at W4095 430th Ave., Ellsworth.
• At 10:19 p.m., police responded to the area of 950th Street and Lilac Avenue in River Falls for a possible domestic. A father and adult daughter had gotten into a verbal argument and the daughter left.
June 19
• At 12:13 a.m., police observed a vehicle with too many occupants at W7598 Highway 10, Ellsworth. Courtesy rides were given to people. The driver was warned.
• At 3:25 a.m., police located a truck in the ditch at 860th Street and Highway 10, Ellsworth, that had recently been involved in an accident. The driver had fled the scene. Methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia were in plain view in the vehicle. A search revealed more methamphetamine.
• At 3:53 a.m., deputies assisted jail staff with a disorderly inmate.
• At 5:06 a.m., deputies assisted River Falls police with a possible domestic situation at 128 N. Main St.
• At 10:55 a.m., a caller reported he swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle turning into a driveway and hit an address sign at N7544 County Road CC, Spring Valley.
• At 11:32 a.m., a caller reported he went to the Pierce County Dairy Breakfast and was told to leave by a family member of the host family. The caller wanted the family member arrested for grand theft and larceny related to an incident that allegedly occurred 16 years ago. According to the report, the caller screamed and swore at police on the phone, so the deputy hung up. The caller called back and spoke to another deputy. Attempts are being made to reach the family member from the farm breakfast.
• At 12:51 p.m., police saw a woman walking down the road on the St. Croix County side at Division and Winter streets in River Falls with an active probation warrant. River Falls police requested the deputy detain the woman. River Falls police arrived and arrested the woman.
• At 2:41 p.m., police checked on a woman at W3515 Highway 35, Maiden Rock, who said she was “okay to drive” but was clearly intoxicated. A ride was found for the woman. Friends on the scene said they wouldn’t let her drive.
• A caller reported a loud party at 4:49 p.m. on 295th Avenue in Hager City. The caller wanted extra patrol for drunk drivers later in the evening.
• At 6:58 p.m., police saw a vehicle parked on the side of the road at Eau Galle Road/Wagon Trail in Spring Valley with the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was unlocked. Police left a voicemail for the registered owner.
• Deputies responded at 10:22 p.m. to N8034 920th St., River Falls, for a man acting suspiciously. He was gone when police arrived.
• At 11:30 p.m., a caller reported that kids were riding bikes on the sidewalk in the 600 block of First Street in Plum City and she was upset because she thought it was too late for them to be doing so. At the time of the call, it was not yet past curfew.
June 20
• Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a warrant arrest at 2:19 p.m. at 114 E. Main St.
• A possible rattlesnake was reported at 6:07 p.m. at W10834 522nd Ave., Prescott. Police told her to leave it alone and call the DNR if it isn’t gone by tomorrow.
• At 8:20 p.m., a caller reported a tree down across the roadway at County Road J and Highway 65 in Beldenville. The deputy removed the tree.
June 21
• Police learned of a tree blocking the roadway at 6:35 a.m. near 850th Avenue and Highway 128, Spring Valley. A county plow had responded and removed the tree but was stuck across the roadway. Another rig arrived to free the stuck plow.
