The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office May 17-23.

May 17

•Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 10:48 a.m. in trying to locate a suspect involved in a hit and run in the 300 block of North Maple Street. A stop sign and post were hit.

•A resident at W6311 Highway 63, Ellsworth, reported a stolen vehicle at 12:13 p.m. The vehicle had gone missing over a week ago.

•Police responded to N3570 County Road O, Hager City, at 2:18 p.m. for a man who was cold to the touch. A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

•A possible stolen vehicle was reported at 2:48 p.m. at W5309 County Road EE, Bay City.

•Deputies responded to W1459 265th Ave., Plum City, for a welfare check at 6:43 p.m. They had received a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A man was found dead at the scene.

•A dead dog was found in the roadway at 11:20 p.m. at County Road KK and Highway 63.

May 18

•A man reported his neighbor’s dog at 7:53 a.m. on Eau Galle Dam Road in Spring Valley for running into his driveway and nipping at him. The dog did not break skin, but the man wanted the incident documented. Police spoke to the dog’s owner, who said she had found a new home for the dog because the man had said he’d shoot her dog if it came on his property again. Police spoke to her about maintaining control of her dogs.

•Deputies assisted with getting cattle out of the roadway at 10:18 a.m. at 850th Avenue and County Road F, River Falls.

•Deputies assisted Dunn County Sheriff’s Office with an interview about a stolen ATV at 11:41 a.m. at W5370 794th Ave., Spring Valley.

•Deputies assisted River Falls police with a K-9 search at 2:14 p.m. at 1450 S. Wasson Lane.

•Police responded at W6461 Main St., Bay City, at 9:13 p.m. for burnt paper in a mailbox.

May 19

•A deer vs. car crash was reported at 4:35 a.m. at N4306 Highway 63, Ellsworth.

•The coroner was called at 6:31 a.m. to W11386 County Road FF, River Falls.

•Police found a tan Mazda Protégé in the ditch at 10:12 a.m. near W6670 150th Ave., Bay City. The driver was located and told police he had swerved to miss a der.

•At 5:48 p.m., a cell phone was found in a ditch near W7811 County Road J, Beldenville. Phone will be placed in safe keeping until owner claims it.

•Police checked on a suspicious male sitting in the boat launch at 10:30 p.m. at N1299 825th St., Hager City. He told police he was waiting near the bathroom due to an unsettled stomach.

May 20

•A caller reported a 2006 Chevy Silverado stolen at 7:03 a.m. from W7472 130th Ave., Hager City.

•Deputies assisted Spring Valley police with a two-vehicle crash with road blockage and injuries at 7:50 a.m. near Silver Fox Drive and Van Buren Street.

•Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a report of a missing child at 2:42 p.m. in the 600 block of South Piety Street. The child was found and picked up by mom.

•A tree had to be removed from a curve in the roadway at 4:40 p.m. at highways 29 and 63 near Martell.

•A tree was removed from the roadway at 4:46 p.m. near 1050th Street and Highway 35, Prescott.

•Police responded to a report of several goats walking down the road at 6:21 p.m. near W5398 Highway 29, River Falls. The deputy was able to push the goats across a fence.

•A tree was removed from the roadway at 8:31 p.m. at 430th Avenue and County road O, Ellsworth.

•Another tree was removed from the roadway at 10:14 p.m. near N4460 710th St., Ellsworth.

May 21

•PCSO assisted Prescott police with a warrant arrest at 5:55 a.m. at Front and Ash streets.

•A tree was removed from the roadway at 7:06 a.m. near 810th Street and County Road W, River Falls.

•A mother requested a welfare check at 8:52 a.m. in Prescott. She said her daughter has a history of drinking laundry detergent and didn’t show up for work. She called back shortly thereafter and reported her daughter had arrived at work.

•A man called police at 11:03 a.m. to report a suspicious man in his yard at N7527 650th St., Beldenville. It turned out to be the caller’s neighbor, who told police he had stopped over to get directions to another neighbor’s house. The caller was concerned that his neighbor was acting strangely.

•Police responded to a twovehicle, head-on crash at 11:41 a.m. near county road F and M, River Falls. One person died and one was injured.

•Deputies found three people riding a single-person ATV without the required helmets at 4:26 p.m. on County Road K, Hager City. They were traveling at a high rate of speed. The operator was underage.

•At 5:15 p.m., police found a 13-year-old operating a UTV on County Road K (not an ATV route). The child was not wearing a helmet and the seat belts were buckled behind the seat. The registration was also not current.

•A car vs. deer crash was reported at 5:43 p.m. near 1208th Street and Highway 35, Prescott.

•A car vs. deer crash was reported at 6:01 p.m. at 1220th Street and Highway 35, Prescott.

•A catalytic converted was reported stolen at 6:16 p.m. at N1566 County Road VV, Hager City.

•A tree was removed from the roadway at 6:47 p.m. at Highway 35 and 468th Avenue, Prescott.

•Police observed suspicious activity at 9:33 p.m. at N1477 830th St., Hager City. Police checked on a vehicle parked in the cemetery after hours and attempted to contact the owner. A note was left on the vehicle to have it removed.

May 22

•At 11:35 a.m., police were called to 430 W. Shaw Ave., Elmwood, for an out-of-control man who took his girlfriend’s car without her permission. Dunn County located the vehicle.

•Deputies assisted Spring Valley police with a disorderly person at 12:07 p.m. at N353 N. Sabin Ave.

•PCSO received calls about a driver all over the road at 12:16 p.m. near 770th Avenue and County Road F, River Falls. The driver was contacted and police determined the vehicle had been in a crash and left the scene. The man was arrested for OWI.

•At 6:40 p.m., a deputy responded to W501 Eau Galle Road, Spring Valley, to assist St. Croix deputies with a boating complaint.

•Police returned to W501 Eau Galle Road, Spring Valley, at 6:52 p.m. to assist SCSO with a driving complaint. A suspect was disorderly with his vehicle and left the scene. He was not located.

•Police responded at 7:12 p.m. to N1299 825th St., Hager City, for a hit and run crash in the parking lot. Both owners were found and willing to work out their damages. Another hit and run crash was reported at the same location at 7:54 p.m. Those owners were also located and agreed to work out damages between them.

•Police received a suspicious vehicle/activity report on 8:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of River Drive in River Falls. A caller reported two men in a gray van watching his daughter from the woods. The caller followed the vehicle into town and the van accelerated aggressively. Extra patrol requested.

•A group of people arguing was reported at 9:50 p.m. at 985th Street and 290th Avenue, Hager City. The group was gone when police arrived.

•A caller reported someone walking on his property with a flashlight at 11:22 p.m. at N5832 770th St., Ellsworth. The person with the flashlight left in an SUV. No one was located.

May 23

•Police responded to a car fire at 5:52 p.m. at 450th Avenue and Highway 10, Ellsworth.

•Deputies responded at 7:33 p.m. to W7037 135th Ave., Hager City, for a report of people target shooting on DNR land. The complainant confronted the shooters, who were found to be shooting legally. The complainant’s report was found to have false statements, so he was warned for disorderly conduct and harassment.

•Police responded at 9:01 p.m. to N3298 730th St., Hager City, for a shooting complaint. A complainant had found a bullet hole in his shed and wanted it documented.

•Deputies assisted River Falls police with a search for a man suspected in a burglary, at 10:07 p.m. at 1450 S. Wasson Lane.

•Police tried to speak to a man they found yelling at an upstairs window at 11:44 p.m. at 372 W. Main St., Ellsworth. The man jumped on a bike and took off. He was not found.
