The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office May 3-10.
May 3
•A caller reported a possible injured eagle at 9:40 a.m. at Highway 63 and 825th Street South, near Hager City. Wardens were notified.
•A deputy removed a dead turkey form the road at 11:41 a.m. at 900th Street and Highway 29, near River Falls.
•A cow was reported on the road at 1:18 p.m. at 610th Street and County Road J, Beldenville. The cow was returned to its pasture.
•A tree was reported fallen and blocking the roadway at 7:45 p.m. on 720th Street, Beldenville. The township was contacted and the tree removed.
•Police responded at 11:24 p.m. to the Gas Lite (W8941 Highway 10, Ellsworth) for a report of a suspicious person. A person had paid to camp there, so everything was okay.
May 4
•Deputies checked the 200 block of West Cascade Avenue at 2:46 a.m. after a shots fired complaint. No one was located.
•Police were called about a loose horse at 7:14 a.m. near county roads K and KK, near Ellsworth. No horse was located.
•Deputies assisted Elmwood police at 12:14 p.m. with a man having an emotional crisis in the 100 block of South Woodworth Street.
•A complainant called PCSO at 2:39 p.m. for advice on how to get his neighbor to clean up his “trashy place” on 150th Avenue, Hager City. Police advised him to contact his township, county land management/zoning or public health if there are health issues, or to offer assistance in cleaning. The caller said he’s tried all those suggestions and he thought police might assist.
•Police were called at 6:07 p.m. for an assault not in progress in the 600 block of Public Street in Elmwood. The incident was determined to have occurred in Dunn County.
•Police were called to W6244 410th Ave., Ellsworth, for a vehicle fire at 10:16 p.m. Photos were taken of the vehicle and damage.
•Police responded to the 100 block of South Second Street in Spring Valley at 11:31 p.m. for a woman yelling. No suspicious activity was located.
May 5
•Police were sent to a County Road N, Beldenville, address at 6:37 a.m. for a report of possible animal abuse involving a deceased cat with a wire around its neck. Contact with the complainant was unsuccessful. There are no suspects at this time.
•Deputies were notified of a one-vehicle crash with no injuries at 7:04 a.m. at 890th Avenue and Highway 63, near Baldwin.
•PCSO assisted St. Croix County and River Falls police with locating an escaped fugitive at 12:58 p.m. at 1629 E. Division St.
•A complainant called police at 5:40 p.m. from a business on 830th Street in Hager City to report a strange man. He wanted police to know that somebody is “acting weird in our county.”
•Two dogs were reported missing at 7:18 p.m. from N6875 County Road CC, Spring Valley.
•Police responded to the 100 block of Main Street in Elmwood at 9:52 p.m. for a driving complaint. The vehicle was located unoccupied. The owner was located and he told police he planned to walk home.
May 6
•Police responded at 2:12 a.m. to N1620 County Road VV, Hager City, for a crash that occurred on private property. The striking vehicle was not located.
•A trespassing complaint was lodged at 9:56 a.m. at N5510 County Road O, Ellsworth. The people left before police arrived, but contact was made with them later.
•Police spoke with a complainant at 4:51 p.m. about people cutting trees on their property while they were quarantining. The incident took place on Highway 29 near Prescott.
•Deputies responded to a car vs. deer crash at 9:34 p.m. at W10558 Highway 29, River Falls. There were no injuries and a deputy followed the damaged vehicle back home.
•Police responded to a domestic incident at 9:49 p.m. in the 300 block of North Sabin Avenue in Spring Valley. The parties agreed to leave each other alone.
•A caller reported suspicious noises coming from the river area at 10:25 p.m. on 790th Street, Hager City. A boat trailer was in the area, and police advised it was probably night fishermen.
May 7
•A damaged vehicle was towed after a car vs. deer crash at 5:24 a.m. at W7562 Highway 10, Ellsworth.
•A caller reported four cows missing in the area at 7:36 a.m. at N2294 490th St., Maiden Rock.
•A Holstein bull was found at 9:04 a.m. at N2614 County Road D, Bay City. The bull’s owner was notified.
•Deputies responded to W3043 730th Ave., Spring Valley, at 10:21 a.m. for a UTV rollover. The man was taken to Regions by EMS.
•Forty head of cattle were reported on the roadway at 12:11 p.m. at County Road A and Highway 10 near Ellsworth. The owner was able to get them back in, with the assistance of a returning Ellsworth Ambulance driver.
•Police witnessed two vehicles speeding while overtaking a vehicle at 7:56 p.m. near 1005th Street and Highway 35 in Hager City. Both vehicles were pulled over and one was searched. One driver was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed, while the second driver was cited for speeding and charges were forwarded for possession of drug paraphernalia and scheduled narcotics.
•Police assisted a tractor down the road that had a flat tire on the plow, at 8:32 p.m. at County Road O and Highway 65, River Falls.
May 8
•A dead turkey and a dead raccoon were removed from the roadway at 4:08 a.m. at 760th Street and Highway 10, Ellsworth.
•A single-vehicle crash was reported at 6:45 a.m. at N7610 County Road E, River Falls. State Patrol responded.
•A suspicious person was reported at 10:22 a.m. at 825th and 831st streets in Hager City. Contact was made with a woman in a vehicle, who said she is homeless and disabled. She was just resting and said she’d be on her way when able.
•Suspicious activity was reported at 10:51 a.m. at W799 Eau Galle Dam Road, Spring Valley.
•Deputies responded to a Fourth Street residence in River Falls at 4:58 p.m. They performed life-saving measures and assisted EMS as needed.
•Deputies removed a dead turkey from the roadway at 5:03 p.m. near 890th Avenue and Highway 63, Baldwin.
•Deputies assisted River Falls police at 8:23 p.m. for a disorderly person at 113 ½ E. Elm St.
•Deputies assisted River Falls police at 10:11 p.m. with a disorderly person at 107 E. Elm St.
•Police were called at 10:15 p.m. to 227 N. Race Drive, Elmwood, for man found on the ground not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
May 9
•Police assisted Prescott police with a fight in progress at 12:51 a.m. at 114 Broad St.
•Police assisted Prescott police with another fight in progress at 1:39 a.m. at 117 Broad St.
•A caller reported an injured dog on the side of the road at 6:08 a.m. at County Road A and Highway 35, Maiden Rock. The caller contacted the town chair.
•Deputies assisted Prescott police in recovering a stolen vehicle at 6:29 p.m. at 236 N. Dakota St.
•Deputies responded to a controlled burn that was out of control at 4:44 p.m. at W3848 110th Ave., Maiden Rock. Ellsworth Fire was able to contain the fire.
•Police responded at 6:06 p.m. to W11860 County Road FF, River Falls, where two mailboxes had been hit by a vehicle. There are no suspects.
•A car vs. deer crash was reported at 8:33 p.m. at County Road J and Highway 65, Beldenville. The driver could remove the vehicle himself.
May 10
•Deputies were called at 12:52 a.m. to N1620 County Road VV, Hager City, for an assault. People were interviewed and photos taken.
•PCSO assisted River Falls police at 1:17 a.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Spring Street for a domestic incident.
•PCSO assisted Prescott police at 2:03 a.m. at an incident at 241 Broad St.
