Initial appearances Dustin C. Baskin, 37, Menomonie, posted a $10,000 signature bond on a felony forgery – uttering (repeater, as party to a crime) charge Aug. 15. A preliminary hearing is slated for 1 p.m. Sept. 26.

Paul Morgan Haskins, 28, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on felony battery or threat to judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer, OWI-second, resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct charges. A preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 7.

Dylan Vail McSorley,

20, Hastings, Minn., posted a $25,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on a felony second degree sexual assault of child (lifetime supervision of serious sex offenders) charge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sept. 1.

Brenda Mae Olson, 39, Eau Claire, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on a felony forgery – uttering (as party to a crime) charge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sept. 26.

Samuel Eugene Pascenti, 42, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $1,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia charges. A status conference is slated for 3:45 p.m. Sept. 1.

Casey Lee Pengra, 21, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on felony battery or threat to judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer, resisting or obstructing an officer, OWI-second, operating while revoked (alcohol related) and disorderly conduct charges. A status conference is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. Sept. 26.

James Louis Reed, 44, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $1,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on reckless driving – cause bodily harm and operate without valid license (second within three years) charges. A status conference is slated for 10:15 a.m. Sept. 20.

Ashley Lynn Vorass, 33, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 16 on felony possession of methamphetamine, disorderly conduct and four felony bail jumping charges. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30.

Shawn Michael Wood, 36, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 15 on felony bail jumping, felony stalking, and two disorderly conduct charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

Deferred cases Ernest V. Davis Jr., 63, River Falls, pleaded guilty to and entered into a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge Aug. 16. A possess drug paraphernalia charge was dismissed. The charges stemmed from a March 4 incident.

Closed cases Kyle Dean Hines, 36, Plum City, was convicted of misdemeanor bail jumping and disorderly conduct, sentenced to one year’s probation and fined $886 Aug. 15. A battery charge was dismissed. The charges resulted from a Dec. 18 incident.

An operating while revoked (alcohol related) charge against Patrice C. Letexier, 56, Red Wing, Minn., was dismissed Aug. 15. The charge stemmed from an April 1 traffic stop.

Allen Gene McCuen, 36, Elmwood, was convicted of felony burglary – building/ dwelling (as party to a crime), sentenced to three years’ probation, fined $518, ordered to pay $3,323.17 in restitution (plus a 10% surcharge fee) and ordered to successfully complete Drug Court programming Aug. 15. Receiving or concealing stolen property (as party to a crime), felony bail jumping and possess drug paraphernalia charges were dismissed. The charges resulted from incidents Feb. 17, 2021 and May 25, 2022.

Craig A. Passe, 42, Ellsworth, was convicted of operate without carrying a license and fined $277.80 Aug. 15. The charge stemmed from a May 21 traffic stop.
