As many of you know, we have recently had some Covid cases within our facility. As such, there have been few, if any group activities. We have, however, managed a couple bingo games in the halls, a bean bag game or two, and a flurry of independent activities for our sequestered residents (or inmates as they like to refer to themselves!) Yes, it is hard for all of us and especially for our residents. Fortunately, all cases of Covid have been mild ones.
On a lighter note, our second boosters are on the way and we encourage all of you to consider vaccinations and boosters for our safety and yours. We are still open for visitors (outdoors encouraged), and we are always willing and available for outings. Dairy Queen is only a few miles away. Is there anything better than ice cream on these hot days?
Our Friday happy hour times have been morphed into extravagant room visits with props, costumes, wild music and hysterical laughter! This past week, we chose the theme: “The S.W.A.T. Team: Fighting Crime & Covid in the Nursing Home.” Many folks took part dressing as crime fighters while the music theme from “Mission Impossible” thundered from the speaker. We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did, participating in them. Do stop in and see us. It’s perfect weather for sitting on the porch with a tall glass of lemonade. You know you are getting old when everything hurts, and what doesn’t hurt doesn’t work!
