ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to the Ellsworth Police Department March 28 through April 3.

Monday, March 28

A complainant reported at 9:28 a.m. that UPS had delivered a package to his home at 275 S. Maple St. over the weekend. The complainant was gone for the weekend and when he returned, the package had been opened and retaped. The shipping slip was missing from the package, which contained medical equipment.

Officers accompanied an ADRC employee at 2:21 p.m. to 120 S. Piety St. for an eviction complaint. After speaking with all parties involved, they were advised it was a civil matter.

Police investigated a suspicious man walking behind the post office (270 N. Main St.) at 10:59 p.m. The man told police he was looking for coins and rocks. He said he would go home.

Tuesday, March 29

At 12:38 a.m., police were called to 191 Evergreen Estates St. for a disorderly person damaging property. When police arrived, the suspect refused to open the door. Police were called back a short time later for the same complaint. When officers were let in, they saw that no property had been destroyed. The suspect received a warning.

Wednesday, March 30

Officers assisted Pierce County deputies with an eviction at 9:53 a.m. at 358 S. Piety St.

Thursday, March 31

Suspicious activity was reported

at 4:21 a.m. at 435 W. Golf Course Lane.

Rachel Hutcheson, 23, Prescott, was arrested for a probation violation at 10:37 a.m. at 310 W. Main St.

Ian Rumeliote, 44, Prescott, was arrested for a probation violation at 4:21 p.m. at 310 W. Main St.

Friday, April 1

Officers responded to a vehicle vs. fence crash at 5:33 a.m. at West Cairns and Evergreen Estates streets. George Thoen, 77, Ellsworth, said he drove up against a small wooden fence. No injuries were reported.

Gregg Wilcoxson, 60, Hudson, was cited for operating without proof of insurance after a traffic stop at 9:57 a.m. at 670th Street and 570th Avenue. He was warned for speeding and given until April 2 to produce proof of insurance.

Police assisted Public Works at 1:08 p.m. while they removed a boulder from the hillside near Morse and Main streets.

Police assisted Pierce County deputies in attempting to locate a disorderly person at 7:37 p.m. at W6087 Highway 10, Ellsworth.

Saturday, April 2

A caller reported a catalytic converter theft at 11:14 a.m. at 455 E. Wall St. The vehicle was parked behind a business. The theft occurred sometime between March 20 and April 2. Security footage will be reviewed.

Javier Banks, 33, Oklahoma City, reported that he hit a stop sign and Main and Beebe streets while backing up his semi at 4:58 p.m. The county responded to put the sign back up.

Police investigated an animal complaint at 5:36 p.m. at 160 W. Humble Ave. The dog’s owner said the dog taps on the door when it wants to come inside. The dog appeared healthy and had food and water available in bowls outside.

Sunday, April 3

Officers removed several large stones from the road at 2:17 a.m. near Morse and Main streets.

Chace Williams, 27, Ellsworth, was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping at 3:30 a.m. at 191 Evergreen Estates St. A complainant reported that Williams was drinking and causing trouble.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:44 a.m. at Main and Chestnut streets between Chelsie Anderson, 25, Lakeland, Minn., and

Martin Peterson, 74, St. Croix Falls. Anderson was turning left onto Main from Chestnut, while Peterson was traveling west on Main Street. Anderson said she couldn’t see around parked vehicles and when she pulled into the intersection, she struck Peterson’s vehicle. Anderson was cited for not wearing a seat belt.

Tristen Brown, 20, Baldwin, was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 3:48 p.m. at County Road C and East Business Way.

Lisa Delong, 49, Elmwood, was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign after a traffic stop at 9:44 p.m. at Maple and Ray streets. Police witnessed Delong traveling west on Kinne Street and fail to stop at the Maple Street stop sign before heading north.
