ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports
The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Aug. 9-15.
Monday, Aug. 9
At 9:03 p.m. a hit-and-run was reported at 610 E. Main St. A man there said a woman hit his vehicle and drove away after they had a verbal altercation.
Tuesday, Aug. 10
At 1:11 a.m., a woman reported that the landlord has been letting people into her room at 463 E. Wall St. The landlord said the woman had been evicted effective Aug. 8. They were told to take the issue to civil court.
At 4:49 p.m., officers assisted deputies at the jail with a woman who was attempting to jump through a squad window and being verbally abusive to officers. She also tried to bite an officer.
Wednesday, Aug. 11 Zachary Weiss, 19, Ellsworth, was cited for operating after suspension after a traffic stop for speeding at 1:18 a.m. at East Main and Pond streets.
At 11:01 a.m., a woman reported finding a piece of razor blade in her tire at 370 W. Main St. Extra patrol was requested.
Allen McCuen, 35, Elmwood, was arrested for a probation violation at 11:46 a.m. at 310 W. Main St.
At 3:33 p.m. the business owner at 183 E. Main St. reported someone illegally dumping a couch in front of store. The registered owner of the vehicle was contacted after surveillance video was viewed.
At 6:54 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at 625 S. Maple St. thought to be related to a possible burglary. The car’s driver said he was doing follow-up with former clients of his pest control company. At noon Aug. 12, the same driver was cited for selling door-to-door without a permit.
At 9 p.m., suspicious activity was reported at Madonna and Mikel streets. A car was parked for a long time with its lights on. The driver said he was talking to a friend.
Thursday, Aug. 12
At 1:10 a.m., officers assisted Pierce County deputies with an escaped goat at the fairgrounds. He was eventually caught and put back in his pen.
At 9:17 a.m. a gas leak was reported at 484 High Point Drive. MRI was doing work near the road and struck a gas line.
At 4:50 p.m., police assisted Ellsworth Fire with a reported gas leak at 101 Evergreen Estates. At 11:11 p.m. police responded to a domestic incident at 511 Vincent Lane. Two people were arguing after drinking. They agreed to separate for the night.
Friday, Aug. 13
At 9:13 a.m., a person reported a man parking at Cairns Woods and entering the woods.
At 11:15 a.m., police were notified of a minor two-vehicle crash in the parking lot of Matt’s Electric between
Avary Pomerleau, 20, Princeton, and Richard Holm, 52, Ellsworth. Pomerleau said she was backing up and struck a trailer that was sticking out into the travel lane.
At 11:42 a.m., a gas driveoff of $48.50 at Cenex was reported. The vehicle was a silver Jeep Liberty with Minnesota plates. At 3:08 p.m., police received a report of a little boy wandering down Grant Street almost to Main Street. A person in a minivan picked up the child and was possibly looking for another child. Police made contact with the driver, who said her four-year-old left the house wanting to go to the fair. All the children were accounted for. At 8:46 p.m., officers assisted Pierce County deputies with a suspicious activity complaint at W6548 431st Ave., Ellsworth, that involved a vehicle from a previous traffic complaint.
Saturday, Aug. 14
At 12:02 a.m. police responded to 428 W. Grove St. for a report of a stolen scooter. The scooter was located at the fairgrounds.
While patrolling at 9 a.m., an officer noticed a child alone at East End Park. At 9:45 a.m., the same child was seen at a garage sale alone on Beulah Street. Police contacted the boy’s father, who said his children run off. The father was advised to watch his kids and the case was referred to Pierce County Human Services.
At 11:37 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of West Dale Street reported a van driving by and a person writing things down. No one was located.
Alyssa Pascoe, 34, Somerset, was involved in a property damage accident at 5:36 p.m. at Cairns Street and Vincent Lane.
At 9:34 p.m., officers assisted PCSO deputies with a large group of disorderly people at the demolition derby at the fairgrounds. The parties were separated without incident.
Sunday, Aug. 15
At 2:26 a.m., police saw a person riding bike in the middle of the road at Crosscut Avenue and Wall Street. The rider said he rides almost every night and was just getting out of the house for a bit.
At 2:42 a.m., officers assisted Pierce County deputies with a broken vehicle window at 412 W. Kinne St.
At 6:44 a.m., police removed a deceased cat from the roadway at Bay and Main streets.
Keana Hall, 16, Ellsworth, was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 1:54 p.m. at Crosscut Avenue and Main Street.
At 11:41 p.m., a resident at 419 W. Church St. reported a missing black and gray mastiff named Duke with a red collar. The dog ran away.
