ELLSWORTH – In this season of giving, Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) and its employees are working to make this Christmas a little merrier for families in Pierce and Pepin counties.
In November, participating employees collected donations for the Durand Improvement Group’s holiday stocking program for its annual Dazzle Days. Donations included mittens, hats, playdough, coloring books, and playing cards/card games. In December, the co-op “adopted” a family through the Ellsworth Gift Box program. Participating employees chose ornaments from the co-op’s Gift Box tree, with each ornament listing a gift item for individual family members. Gifts were wrapped, labeled, and delivered for distribution by the Ellsworth Gift Box program.
“As your local electric cooperative, we’re committed to helping everyone in our community Live Better,” said Nate Boettcher, PPCS president and CEO. “This past year has been very difficult for many families with rising inflation. We hope these contributions help ease the burden and bring joy to families during the holiday season.”
PPCS also opened its facility for use as the Gift Box program’s drop-off and pick-up location, making its back garage available to program volunteers from Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 12-14, as a drive-thru site.
PPCS has been able to demonstrate its concern for community through support of the Pierce County Gift Box program for the past 13 years.
