In just one game last week, Prescott’s boys’ basketball team beat Somerset, 8876. The Cardinals were led in scoring by seniors Parker Nielsen and Jacob Doffing, who combined to score over 50 points. Nielsen finished with 27 points, four rebounds and six assists while Doffing registered a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Doffing recorded five blocked shots and three assists. Freshman Jordan Malmov gave the Cardinals 12 points and three rebounds and junior Walker Lenz 10 points, four rebounds and a steal and a block.
The Cardinals played Saint Croix Central on Tuesday and host Amery on Friday. At 10-1 in Middle Border Conference play, the Cardinals wrap up regular season play at home against winless Amery and at Baldwin-Woodville, 6-5. The Cardinals are tied at the top of the league with New Richmond, which ends the season home against Ellsworth Friday and at Somerset Thursday.
