The Prescott Community Club Student of the Week for Oct. 16 is Prescott High School senior Caden Peterson, nominated by Spanish teacher Nicole Jodarski.

Caden is an inquisitive, insightful, and highly motivated student,” Jodarski said. “He is enthusiastic about putting newly acquired language to use, and he routinely challenges himself in class. Several times a week, Caden poses astute questions or observations about language, and his contributions help the whole class deepen their linguistic knowledge. He is kind, helpful, and generous and always willing to assist his classmates. I am also impressed by his eagerness to learn more outside of class, particularly through reading about the cultures of Spanish-speaking people. Caden’s dedication to language learning and cultural exploration sets him apart as an exceptional student who consistently elevates our learning environment.”

Caden is the son of Penny and Steve Peterson.

“I help Community Ed run various activities and take on many different roles. I work for PCTV with two main jobs - a camera operator for most games and events, and a commentator for some basketball games. I am also a member of 4-H and have done various projects for the club,” Caden said.

He is a member of the cross country and track teams and enjoys running, baking/cooking, video gaming and playing DnD. He is a member of the Dungeons & Dragons Club, Guys Read, National Honors Society and Writer’s Block. He is also an honor roll student.

In the future, he plans to study medicine with the end goal of becoming a trauma or critical care surgeon.
