The Prescott Community Club Student of the Week for Oct. 30 is Prescott High School junior Callie Nechkash, nominated by business education teacher Christopher DeWuske.

“Callie is a sharp, tenacious young woman who launches herself into her work, constructively tackling new ideas and overcoming any challenges along the way,” DeWuske said. “If you were ever to meet her, you would immediately notice her spunky personality and contagion for what she is passionate about. She takes initiative with the school store, spends extra time without being asked, and seeks additional opportunities to help without me having to ask. Her potential shines when she is empowered with the responsibility to make decisions and lead. Callie is a student I can depend on to help move our program forward because of her ambition and enthusiasm. She has a heart for servant leadership and is discerning and thoughtful about her future. She is motivated to succeed and sets high expectations for herself. Most importantly–and the trait I value above all others–Callie is a kind individual who genuinely just wants to do good. I am proud to nominate Callie for this honor and to recognize not just her achievements, but also the effort she applies regardless of whether she receives recognition in her endeavors.

Callie is the daughter of Richelle & Anthony Klabis and Troy Nechkash. She works at Kaufhold’s Kurds in Ellsworth and is a member of the PHS track and field team. She enjoys hunting, fishing and working while fitting time in with her horses.

In the future, she plans to enter the military to be military police, with the goal of one day becoming a sheriff’s deputy.
