The Prescott Community Club Student of the Week for April 30 is Prescott High School junior Gavin Miller, nominated by physical education teacher Jordan Hansen.
“Gavin is one of the hardest workers during weight training class and has seen a lot of improvements in his numbers during these short four weeks,” Hansen said. “He is one of the leaders of his class and continues to work on his leadership qualities by showing up at Wednesday mornings leadership meetings. During weight training class Gavin has given his best effort and is one of the last in the weight room to make sure everything is picked up. Over the last week he has shown that not only can he lead himself but transitioning his leadership into serving others. This last week Gavin has been holding others accountable to make sure they are giving their best in the weight room. I am happy to elect Gavin Miller as student of the week!”
Gavin is the son of Lacey Mahoney and Pat Mahoney. The honor roll student works at Ptacek’s IGA and participates on the track and field, basketball and football teams.
He enjoys fishing, being outdoors, hanging out with friends, lifting, sports, staying busy, traveling, watching shows and movies and playing video games. He hopes to one day attend a trade school or two-year technical college.
“I am leaning towards an electrician or HVAC right now,” Miller said. “I have plans to travel the world and have dreams to renovate houses.”
