The Prescott Community Club Students of the Week for Jan. 31 is Prescott High School sophomore Jacob Barker, nominated by Library Media Specialist Joan Simon.
“Jacob is an avid reader and writer and he is actively involved in all of the library clubs,” Simon said. “Jacob often recommends books for the library and he created a library club website for the PHS Virtual Library. Jacob is always positive and kind. His outgoing personality and upbeat attitude bring a fun and exciting energy to all library activities and events.”
Jacob is the child of Joe and Krista Barker. This honor roll student is a member of the Hastings Area Swim Team, Book Club, Guys Read and Writer’s Block. He enjoys computer science, software engineering, reading and writing stories and scuba diving.
His future plans include attending a four-year college for some type of engineering degree. He would also like to swim in college.
