The Prescott Community Club Student of the Week for Sept. 23 is Prescott High School junior Laura Diez Moreno, nominated by Spanish teacher Profe Jodarski.
“I am excited to recognize Laura, our exchange student from Santander, Spain, as the Prescott Community Club Student of the Week,” Jodarski said. “It takes an immense amount of courage to live and study in another country, especially as a high school student. In the first few weeks of school, Laura has enhanced our classroom community with her insightfulness, dedication to personal growth, and willingness to share her knowledge with others. She consistently encourages her classmates, fostering a truly collaborative environment in Advanced Spanish. She is curious and reflective, and she is bravely taking advantage of new experiences that PHS has to offer. We’re so grateful that she chose to study at PHS and share her time and perspectives with us.”
Diez Moreno is staying with Vonda and Mark Jacobson. She is a member of Book Club, Community Service Club and plays volleyball. She enjoys reading, horse riding, playing cards, watching TV series and listening to music. Someday, she plans to go to college for pharmacy and have a family.
