The Prescott Common Council approved the final plans for a new assisted living facility at 445 Court St. during its July 13 meeting, clearing the way for the project to move forward.
Council members unanimously approved Resolution 34-26, authorizing the site's development plan, followed by Resolution 35-26, granting the conditional use permit required for the facility.
The approvals came after months of review by city staff and the Prescott Plan Commission, which recommended the project earlier this month.
City Administrator Matt Wolf said one of the most significant aspects of the review involved addressing the site's topography and stormwater management.
"So, the big one with this site long term has been just due to the slope, stormwater management and looking at that," Wolf said.
The proposed assisted living facility will include 59 units and incorporates revisions made in response to feedback received during the city's review process, including enhanced stormwater management and expanded parking.
Following the council's vote, Alderperson Maureen Otwell welcomed the project's progress.
"Very happy to see this moving forward," Otwell said.
The approvals mark the final municipal authorization needed for the development to proceed.
