The Prescott Kiwanis Student of the Week for Feb. 8 is freshman Ruby Bernick, who was nominated by math teacher Ms. VanDerVoort.
“Ruby is a joy to have in Algebra 1 this trimester!” VanDerVoort said. “She is one of the most enthusiastic students I’ve ever seen. She answers questions with zero fear of being wrong, asks questions when she needs clarification, and tackles difficult concepts and problems with great tenacity. Overall, she contributes greatly to class morale and is a wonderful role model for the other students in the class to look up to.”
Ruby is the daughter of Mandy Bernick and Shawn Bernick. She plays volleyball and basketball and enjoys reading, watching shows, and hanging out with friends and family. She plans to one day go to college (UW-Madison) and get a job that she enjoys. Submitted by Prescott High School
