Prescott Kiwanis Student of the Week: Scarlette Miller

The Prescott Kiwanis Student of the Week for March 8 is Prescott High School sophomore Scarlette Miller, nominated by social studies teacher Mandy Bernick.

“I have enjoyed Scarlette in U.S. History class second trimester,” Bernick said. “She is thoughtful and kind, and willing to help classmates. Scarlette is a dependable and honest student. Scarlette has excellent attendance and comes every day to class on time, participates and completes work on time. I appreciate Scarlette’s openness to share her opinions with me.”

Scarlette is the daughter of Jon’el Miller and John Miller.

“I have volunteered for Prescott Daze, MPC events including Back to School Bash, family game nights and the carnival,” Miller said.

She has also volunteered for the Children Olympics, plays in the pep band, attends church in Hastings, Minn., and is a member of the PHS Ski Club. She enjoys painting, playing music on her tenor saxophone and piano and helping with animals at the Humane Society. She has also helped out at New Adventures Daycare and hopes to work there when she turns 16, her junior year.

In the future, she plans to help out kids by becoming a speech language pathologist. She wants to create a better environment for children who haven’t had the best opportunities.
