PRESCOTT – A Prescott man is facing up to 25 years in prison and/or $100,000 in fines on 21 felony possession of child pornography charges.

Prescott police, along with the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, conducted a search warrant at 10 a.m. March 9 at 800 Canton St. #25. Robby G. Meyer, 45, Prescott, was arrested at 12:50 p.m. and transported to Pierce County Jail without incident. He was charged in Pierce County Circuit Court on March 10, where the judge ordered him held on $5,000 cash bond.

In a news release, Prescott Police Chief Eric Michaels said there is no indication of any victims in or around the Prescott area.

According to the complaint: On Jan. 24, a special agent with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation received an email from a Minneapolis Police Department officer regarding an online undercover investigation.

Between Jan. 15, 2020 and Nov. 11, 2021, an undercover task force officer with the Minnesota Child Exploitation Task Force used undercover investigative software to identify an IP address, later identified as Meyer’s, involved in sharing child pornography files. The investigation was turned over to Prescott Police and DCI.

Meyer’s next court appearance is a status conference scheduled for 8:45 a.m. March 24. The case remains under investigation.
