PRESCOTT – The Prescott High School Forensics team competed at the district and alternate district competitions on March 19 and 24. Students had to earn scores of 21 (out of 25) or higher in two of their three rounds in order to qualify for state. Prescott High School had 23 students qualify for state out of 24 competing.
Leading the way for the Cardinals was Kinsey Peterson who had three perfect scores in Solo Acting. In addition to Peterson, the following students qualified in their respective categories: Mallory Boles (Impromptu), Erica Jennings (Informative), Rian Engeldinger (Oratory), Alissa Zerneke (Informative), Ella Schommer (Moments in History), Ken Ryan (Moments in History), Lili Campfield-Huth (Prose), Sophia Kapsh (Poetry), Grace Ryan (Poetry), Ella Johnson (Public Address), Mabel Rohl (Radio News Reporting), Kyle Holtan (Moments in History), Delia Warp (Storytelling), Shelby Sizemore (Impromptu), Addison Huppert (Informative), Kelcey Hanson (Poetry), Madison Schmitz (Prose), Shayla Rein (Prose), Bryn Anderson (Public Address), Faith Rohl (Solo Acting), Grace Gale (Storytelling), and Will Markert (Storytelling).
Before heading to state, the team will be performing for the public at the PHS Forensics Showcase at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Prescott High School. The event is free and open to the public.
