NELSON – The Fair Maps Wisconsin Coalition will be speaking Saturday, Dec. 6 in Nelson to give details on the proposed Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC).
They are helping to spearhead a detailed plan to permanently end gerrymandering in Wisconsin by establishing an independent commission to draw voting district maps in Wisconsin every 10 years.
The citizens of Buffalo, Pepin, Pierce, Trempealeau and St. Croix counties will have the opportunity to hear about the framework of the Independent Redistricting Commission proposal from one of its creators.
This event is sponsored by the Buffalo County Dems & Friends who are seeking to engage all the citizens of the area in meaningful opportunities/events on topics of local interest.
The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Nelson Community Hall (S105 N. Main St.) in Nelson. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the presentation will be from 1-2 p.m.
Please bring nonperishable food items you can spare as they will be donated to local food pantries.
