On Monday, Pierce County Public Health Director AZ Snyder and Bradley Smith of Harbor Bar, N673 825th St, Hager City, issued the following joint statement.
“Three staff working at the Harbor Bar in Hager City tested positive for COVID-19 last week. We are releasing this joint statement so that members of the public have accurate information and can seek testing if they may have been exposed to COVID19. None of these individuals reported being within six feet of any one patron for more than 15 minutes during their infectious period, which is the criteria for being considered a close contact, except for one staff member’s friend, who ate with the staff member and has been contacted by public health.
“If you visited Harbor Bar or their food truck at the following dates and times, please monitor
Pierce County Public Health and a Hager City bar and restaurant are asking patrons to be on alert for symptoms after a reported outbreak of COVID-19 among staff yourself closely for symptoms and get tested if any symptoms develop:
•Food Truck: June 20, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday, June 21, 1:30-4 p.m.
•Inside Bar: Friday, June 19, 5 p.m. – 2 a.m., Sunday June 21, 11 a.m. -7 p.m.
“Pierce County Public Health wishes to emphasize that Harbor Bar is working closely with public health officials and has committed to continue requiring staff to wear masks, conducting regular cleaning, and requiring staff to be tested if they feel ill or worked closely with one of the positive cases. Harbor Bar cleaned the establishment extensively after the first positive was identified.
“Pierce County Public Health will not be providing further information regarding the identity of these cases to ensure their privacy.
“Both Harbor Bar and Pierce County Public Health join each other in asking people to maintain physical distance when engaging in summer recreation.”
