The St. Croix Valley Collectors Association invites the public to its 38th Annual Threshing Bee on Sunday, Aug. 20, at the Norm and Shirlee Feyereisen farm, 429 Townsvalley Road, Hudson, WI, starting at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
The day will feature old-time farm equipment in operation, with demonstrations including threshing, baling with a stationary hay press, silo filling, corn shelling and more. A variety of antique tractors, “hit and miss” engines and other vintage equipment will also be on display. There will be several activities for children, a silent auction, and a 2 p.m. parade of antique tractors preceded by the annual crowning of a King and Queen.
As was the custom in times past, at noon the equipment will be shut down so everyone can enjoy a “threshing day” dinner, this year featuring pulled pork sandwiches and side dishes followed by root beer floats. The meal will be catered vs. potluck and attendees are asked not to bring dishes to pass.
While there is no cost to attend, free will donations to help defray the cost of food and beverages are encouraged. For more information call Pete Lubich 715-821-7800 or Mike Lubich 715-425-8430.
