Rep. Warren Petryk: A heartfelt Thanksgiving

Posted

Every day, I express gratitude for the remarkable people of the 93rd Assembly District, a place we proudly call home. It is an honor to meet with folks across the region, whether it be during casual walks in the neighborhood, community events, office hours, at local coffee shops, or at church dinners. This opportunity for connection is one that I deeply appreciate, especially as we gather around our Thanksgiving tables. During this time of the year, I extend my sincere thanks to each esteemed person who contributes to the richness of our communities.

I am also thankful that I can use my position as your State Representative to advocate for you and our region in Madison. This goes beyond making sure that our values in the Chippewa Valley are represented when we pass legislation, but advocating for you when you are having an issue with state government. This includes helping constituents with questions including finding out where your unemployment check is, to getting people an answer when they can’t get a government employee to call them back. Moreover, I am glad that I can use my office to also help people navigate the cumbersome and complicated bureaucratic process in Madison.

In addition, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the kind people who give their service and talents to improve the lives of others. This includes the veterans who might not be home this week because they are overseas serving our country. This also includes those who are helping our veterans and their families that support them. I am appreciative of the law enforcement officers and medical professionals around the state that risk their lives on a daily basis to assist us when we are in need. I'm grateful to our farmers who not only help feed the world but also put in long hours to help put local food on our tables.

As your State Representative, and as a Wisconsinite, I hope that during this Thanksgiving season people will continue to work towards developing an attitude of thankfulness throughout our great state. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful Thanksgiving filled with warmth, laughter, and the company of cherished friends and family!

Thanksgiving, Rep. Warren Petryk, column
